“Comfortable, but kinda noisy...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 16, 2014

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights prior to Christmas Eve, 2013. We were down here to visit family and Cheyenne Mountain was pretty reasonably priced, so we decided to give it a try. Over Christmas time at least, the lobby and grounds are beautiful. The lobby was wonderfully decorated and certainly celebrated the season! At check in, the front desk staff were very nice and helpful and offered to help with anything, which I appreciated. We stayed in the 'Buffalo' lodge, in one of the upper floor rooms. It was a nice room, with nice accouterments and a pleasant bathroom, and everything worked. The room wasn't very big, but that's not much of an issue for us. The bed was very comfortable, and we slept well while we were there. The only comment we had about anything negative was that the heater was right next to the bed, under the window, and it was probably the loudest heater I've ever heard in a hotel room! It wasn't really an issue, it was just very loud! We would stay here again, though...as long as the price was reasonable.

We stayed in the Buffalo Creek Lodge at Cheyenne Mountain Resort. The property is gorgeous! Our room was immaculate and spacious. However, the ceiling and walls are so thin, I thought the guest in the room above us was going to fall through the ceiling! Heard every step they took...... Also, by 9 a.m., Housekeeping was knocking on the door, even though the "Hibernation" sign was on the doorknob - and it was our day to sleep in!
It truly is a gorgeous area! We might would request a room in the main resort next time.

Room Tip: The bed was VERY comfortable, just the thin ceiling allowed us to hear everything in the room above...

While we couldn’t be happier to learn that you described our property as gorgeous and enjoyed your guest accommodations, we regret if neighboring noise or our housekeeping staff caused you any disruption. Providing a truly relaxing experience to our valued guests is one of our top priorities. We hope to welcome you back in the future for another stay in one of our eight residential lodges as our main lodge does not feature any guest rooms. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

We stayed in the cripple creek rooms (2 queens, resort view). The room was already warmed up for us. A stuffed bear left for my son. The beds were sooooooo soft and inviting. Neither of us were wanting to get up and go anywhere! We have decided to come back when we aren't so rushed and have a great night of sleep again. In the past we have eaten at the resort and the food was excellent then, too. It's a lovely place. Thanks again.

Thank you! There are few things better than a great night’s sleep and we’re thrilled that you enjoyed a restful experience at Cheyenne Mountain Resort. Our recently updated accommodations feature luxurious bedding and the addition of our resort bear, Nahqui — a perfect travel companion for our littlest guests. We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back again soon.

We stayed for 2 nights in January. Booked through Hotwire for a great rate on the blind. The resort has a great Colorado atmosphere.
The good: Big rooms, comfy beds, great staff, nice restaurants, potential for a view with the right room, Amazing work out room with courts, lap pool, weight room, spin room, and a ton of variety for working out. By far the best work out rooms at a hotel!
The bad: Pool and hot tub out of service the first night (made up by giving free breakfast buffet), No view from room, noisy neighbors, happy hour is only Monday-Thursday so don't expect a deal on the weekend for food and drink
The ugly: nothing!

Ask for a room with a view if possible, our room faced the courtyard but was close to the pool.

For the Hotwire price, amazing stay but you will be charged the $18 resort fee per night no matter what for internet, pool, and work out rooms....worth the fee.

We love that you started off the New Year with a stay at Cheyenne Mountain Resort! Thank you for giving our property a try, we are glad to read that you enjoyed much of your visit. Guests are invited to share room preferences at check-in. Our front desk associates are happy to accommodate requests when availability permits and would have worked with you to secure a room with a view. We appreciate your feedback and mention of our resort charge, which also includes the benefit of complimentary self or valet parking and is detailed on our website. Come back and see us again soon.

We stayed here in late December 2013 and found the resort to be a bit ragged around the edges. Our room had been remodeled and had a great view and the lobby area was nice but the pool facility has seen better days. The "indoor" pool is in a large bubble and was so cold inside that the staff were all in winter coats. It was like they put a bubble over an old, outdated inner city pool - not what one would expect from a resort of this calibur. We enjoyed the Sunday brunch and would recommend it but for the price, you're better off staying at The Broadmoor.

Room Tip: We booked a standard room but still had a nice view of the mountains.

The views from the room of this property are gorgeous, however, the walls don't seem to be very well insulated and we constantly were awakened by the people above us. Just their walking sounded like a herd of buffalo stomping around. The fitness center is large and provides lots of opportunities for working out. The pool is a large lap pool. Very nice, but if there are very many kids it gets quite crowded because there is only one lane for them to play around in. We ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant and service was excellent. Additionally front desk staff was efficient and friendly.

Room Tip: Choice a room on the top floor to eliminate noise if you don't mind carrying your bags up the st...

I stayed one night here recently. The room was very nicely outfitted and the bed was very comfortable. The resort does have great views. The buildings are scattered around the main lodge building which can make the process of getting from place to place or to hotel amenities a little bit of a challenge. As has been mentioned other places parking can be somewhat of a challenge especially during the holiday time.

We love that you took the time to share your thoughts and that you enjoyed our modernly-appointed guest accommodations which feature great views of the Front Range. While our scenic resort grounds offer plenty to see and do, guests can enjoy getting around the resort by way of our shuttle service which is available to all guests. We are also happy to offer the convenience of complimentary valet service which is included in our facilities charge. We regret if you were unaware of this and have asked our front desk associates to share these details with our future guests. Thank you, please come back again soon.
