We stayed at Cheyenne Mountain Resort Dec 13th for 4 nights and I couldn't say enough good things about our stay! We were greeted at the front desk by Patty who was very helpful. We were booked with a resort view room but Patty helped us to upgrade to a Jr Suite (Dove lodge) with an awesome balcony view of the Cheyenne Mountain, which I highly recommend! The room was very clean and updated with flat screen TV's in both the living room and the bedroom. The restaurant was wonderful with another awesome view of the mountain, and the food was great as well. You can order off the menu and also have a buffet which we ate at every meal. The bar area has 2 pool tables and you can order food there as well. The entire resort was decorated with Christmas décor and beautiful from all the lights to the many Christmas trees, we even got to see Santa and pics with him. I would highly recommend this resort as we had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back!!

Room Tip: Dove lodge has awesome views of the Cheyenne Mountain and worth the upgrade.

We spent the weekend with our 3 young children to celebrate the Christmas season and experience the "Unwrap the Magic" activities. We had a terrible experience. First, there are so many holiday parties each night during the weekend that you can't park near your room and you can't leave for fear of never getting a parking space again. We were forced to order room service because it was impossible to get a seat at the Mountain View Restaurant.
The hotel package I booked said kids eat for free but I had to debate that with 3 different people at the restaurant before they discounted our meal and allow 2/3 of our children to eat for free. It even stated on the kid's menu that they eat for free whether ordering off the menu or eating from the buffet. They wouldn't honor what was stated on the menu.
Our first morning in our room we found dirty, dusty men's underwear in the corner of our closet. I reported it to the front desk and no one followed-up with me or offered to do anything to make our stay more comfortable. We also had to have engineering come in and repair the outlets because they didn't work. They are really old outlets and our plugs wouldn't stay in either, they're a safety hazard for young children.
My children are 1, 4, and 6. We were hoping to take them swimming but the pool is so far across the resort, we couldn't move our car for fear of not getting back in with the parking police and excess guests for holiday parties, and we couldn't walk with them in the cold. Besides doing the Christmas activities in the banquet room (Unwrap the Magic) we were unable to use any of the resort amenities and we certainly paid for them.
We canceled our reservation for Santa Brunch because we saw Santa during the "Unwrap the Magic" activities and our experience was so bad at the restaurant during lunch that we didn't want to go back and waste our money.
I will never stay here again with my children. You're better off staying at another hotel across town and coming to the resort during the day to experience the Christmas activities for $20 per child. Don't waste your money and don't hassle with all the holiday party activites, parking, etc.

Room Tip: Ask to be far away from the lobby and main building during the holiday season. If you have small children request a room closer to the pool and health facility.

We are truly thankful that you and your family visited Cheyenne Mountain Resort and booked our Authentic Colorado Holiday package. It is our hope that families visiting us, especially those in town for holiday events like Unwrap the Magic, enjoy a magical time so we are deeply disappointed your experience was less than perfect. The weekend of your visit did happen to be an extremely busy time at our property. We extend our sincerest apologies for any difficulties this presented and that you were not aware of our complimentary valet parking and shuttle service throughout the resort which is a service we provide all of our guests. Your additional concerns regarding your guest accommodations and communication with our dining team should not have occurred and for that we are very sorry. Thank you for taking the time to share your candid feedback by reviewing your stay and for reaching out to us directly so that we could work with you to provide compensation for the issues and frustration you encountered. As we mentioned when speaking with you directly, we would love the opportunity to welcome you and your family back in the future so that we may change your impression and truly impress you.

The resort is nice. The food was great with wonderful service. I recommend both dinner and breakfast. The views are incredible. The rooms were nice on the surface but needed more cleaning. The AC and showers in the room were poor.

All in all we had a nice stay at this property. It was well located for the things we wanted to do - Cheyenne Mt Zoo, Pikes Peak, Cave of the Winds, etc. but was away from the traffic of the city. It seemed to me, though, that it is more a venue for weddings and big events, as some of the details seemed to fall through the cracks and service was not personalized or remarkable in any way.
We got a good deal on the room which included the breakfast buffet..a very nice spread, though server was not enthused. For the price we paid, I was happy..had I paid full price, I would not have been satisfied.

The views from this hotel are amazing. The rooms are very nice and the service was great. I highly recommend this hotel. The buffet breakfast was quite good. The hotel is close to Garden of the Gods and Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, both are well worth checking out while you are in the area.

Room Tip: Only rooms on the back side of the hotel have the great views.
