After staying at the OTGH on our honeymoon, it has become our "runaway spot" for when we need a break. We love the rooms, the hot tubs, the fireplaces, the wonderful food, and the attention to detail. Don and Shirley are wonderful innkeepers who make each stay a true getaway.

Super place to stay....food is wonderful.....staff is very personable.....will definitely stay again on the next visit!! Switching from the steam shower to the chilly balcony outside was super relaxing. The fireplace was warm and added to the ambiance of the room.

Room Tip: all rooms seem great!

We've been enjoying our reception time in front of the fireplace often this winter. It's been a bit cooler outside with a bit of snow on the ground - so the fireplace is especially inviting. We're always happy to hear that our guests take full advantage of the in-room amenities as well. Thanks, so much, for your review and we hope to see you back with us soon.

This was our first night away from our new, 5 month old, daughter. We were a little apprehensive to leave her but the OTGH was perfect. When we first arrived there was wine and local beer and good conversation. Awesome! We stayed in the African Orchid room and it was large, spacious, clean and had a great hot-tub. We went to Paravinci's for dinner, on the recommendation of Yelp, and it too was excellent. *Note to out-of-state visitors: Do not bring your own wine with you to restaurants because they will tell you in the state of CO it is illegal to serve it. We are from Portland, OR and do this all the time, so we were a little surprised. Oh-well. After dinner, we returned to the OTGH and enjoyed a nice time in the hot-tub. Breakfast was amazing! We were able to meet Don, the owner, and had a nice conversation about food, family and Colorado. Thank you Don for sharing your place with us. We look forward to seeing you again in July!

And you were exactly what WE needed. Thanks for taking the night to relax and enjoy our place.
We remember you well - and the pix of your daughter. She's just precious!
Stay well and drop us a note if you think of anything we need to attend to in 'your' room or anyplace in the Inn.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Old Town GuestHouse for our anniversary. This was our second stay at the bed and breakfast, and we were not disappointed. We stayed in the Oriental Poppy room, which was beautiful. We enjoyed the in-room fireplace and the private balcony hot tub. In the morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast made by Don...probably the best part of our stay. The food was exceptional! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the GuestHouse and will definitely be back. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality Shirley and Don!

Room Tip: We loved the Oriental Poppy room because of the fireplace and hot tub.

We certainly have had some great guests over the Holidays. They make the effort worth while every single day. The Oriental Poppy room is our most popular room by a small margin offering a great view and ample roominess. You chose well!
We hope to see you back again for another relaxing stay and a breakfast or two to remember.

We offered our daughter's in-laws their spare bedroom during our Thanksgiving visit so we could stay at the Old Town GuestHouse. One mark of how you like a place is "Would you come again?" Well, this is our third time, and hopefully it won't be our last. We have been in three different rooms, and found them all delightfully decorated and most comfortable. The balcony and view of Pike's Peak were special additions. We always look forward to breakfast, as Don prepares and serves the amazing food with care and flair. Visiting with Don and Shirley and the other guests is always fun, too. It's a great location in Old Colorado City; lots to do and see. If there is a downside to staying here, we can't think of it.

Our guests are why we do this. Repeat guests are the frosting on the cake. Reacquainting with friends we have made over the years make the days a bit brighter. As someone said, "If you enjoy what you do for a living you'll never work a day in your life." So true! Thanks for making that a reality during your latest (never say LAST) stay with us.

My other half and I live in Estes Park & decided to take a last minute getaway to visit Manitou Springs for his birthday, as he had fond memories there many years ago. We found lodging to be limited and after an exhausting search we booked at Old Town Guesthouse, late at night and online. After I clicked submit I realized this property was in CO Springs....oops! I frantically left a vm & sent an email to cancel. Shirley obligingly did so the next day (though by the rules, she very well could have refused a refund), and gently informed me (non-local that I am) that they were a mere 3 miles from our destination. We loved what we saw online so we decided to go for it. It was the right call!!

The location is perfect (so much to see and do in Old Colorado City), they allowed us to park in the lot prior to check in and check out the surroundings. The interior and exterior are beautiful and well cared for. Don & Shirley could not have been more gracious hosts! Warm and friendly without being obtrusive. The social hour was relaxing and a lot of fun,the dinner recommendation was spot on and they kindly made the reservation for us. They had truffles in the room for the birthday boy even! The breakfast was delicious and just the right amount of food. The room was beautiful and just the right size for 2, and the steam shower was divine!!

They provide everything that embodies the perfect B&B, we can't wait to come back! Our 1 and only regret was that we only got to spend 1 night. Thanks Don & Shirley for a much needed getaway!!

Thanks for the great review and gracious words. The Old Town area of Colorado Springs is an, as yet, undiscovered treasure. Everyone know about Manitou Springs with its coffin races and fruitcake toss but so few realize that 'Old' Colorado City is just down the road and is the birthplace of the state, steeped in history and populated with great restaurants, unique shops and several outstanding galleries. We hope that others who read this review (and reply) will take the path that leads through our little piece of history and commerce.

The Old Town GuestHouse is a terrific place to unwind, relax and enjoy some pampered Colorado living. Our innkeepers Don & Shirley were great and far exceeded our expectations. We had an especially early bike ride one morning and Don got up early and fixed us an awesome breakfast before anyone else was awake. They were always going the extra mile for us. The entire old Colorado City area was very great. Be sure to check out the farmers market on Saturday mornings for some delicious local produce. Can't wait to come back again.

Room Tip: We were in the Cactus room which was excellent but next time we would like to try the Columbine room...

Thanks for the nice review! 'Tailored hospitality" is what someone called our type of servce. Not everyone wants the same level of attention and we meet to do what the guest needs and wants. Glad we hit the mark when you were with us. Do come again!
