This is the place you want to stay, if you're wanting to check out Colorado Springs! Great service, great food, quality place to be. You will be close to Old Colorado and Manitou Springs, which both have many restaurants, shops, things to do. You're also very close to the Garden of the Gods.

Room Tip: The Victorian Rose is a very romantic room. The private Hot Tub IS private. It has a great view of P...

This inn lives up to the media hype--actually exceeds. Don & Shirley have given each room every amenity one could desire. Interestingly decorated, inviting hot tubs on the deck of 2 suites, and scrumptious breakfasts in a sunny, warm atmosphere. Wine & appetizer time in the lovely living room is a great way to meet other guests. Our son & daughter-in-law met us there for their very first b&b encounter. They loved it!! We try to stay in b&'s or small inns whenever possible. This wonderful establishment has joined our list of very favorites. Thanks for everything, Don & Shirley. We look forward to joining you again one day. Bill & Molly

Room Tip: Two lovely rooms have deck hot tubs, one overlooking Pikes Peak.

Actually we have 4 rooms with private Hot Tubs - but who's counting? What a nice review - sorry I'm so late responding! We have some of the best guests in the world and you rank highly among them. I remember you because of the kids and hope that we've made avid B&B stayers out of them. Do come again, perhaps our lower off-season rates will entice you to visit over the next few months.

This is more beautiful than any high dollar hotel you could ever stay at. Forget the Broadmoor...forget the Cliff House....stay here! You won't find friendlier staff or owners anywhere else. The breakfasts are full and comforting. The rooms are the best. It is so nice to sit on the balcony in your private hot tub while seeing the mountains in the distance.

Hot Tubs, Spectacular vistas, wonderful breakfasts, and "tailored hospitality". We love what we do and love our guests as well.
Sorry this is so late. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you back again.
Summers are great but, frankly we don't have much in the way of winter so any time is a good time to come. Look at the off-season rates - they're pretty attractive if I do say so myself.
Take care!!!!

We had a great time at the Old Town Guesthouse. The room itself was comfortable, clean, quiet and very complete. Everything we might have needed was close at hand. Breakfasts were terrific with very interesting selections and presentation each day. The location was also excellent being within walking distance of several restaurants and barely 100 yards from an ice cream shop. Manitou Springs and the Pikes Peak railway were 5 minutes away by car. The best part of Old Town, though, was the nightly happy hour in the sunny living room. Nice wines, local micro brews and snacks for all of the guests to sit around, debrief on the day and compare dinner recommendations. A very comfortable and relaxing way to visit Colorado Springs. Don't waste your time (or money) on a chain hotel. Much better value here.

Ahhh, Happy Hour! That's often my favorite time of day and with great guests to share stories, it just gets better. Thanks for the review. We wouldn't change the location (except encourage the shops to stay open a bit later) but the rooms - what would you suggest?

Shirley and Don are wonderful hosts. The wine reception was very nice with nuts and a trail mix for snacks. The room was just beautiful! We stayed in the Moroccan Jasmine room as that was the only room available at the time of booking. The bed is an updated waterbed with a pillowtop mattress. My husband loved it, I have never really liked waterbeds but it is comfortable enough. The balcony looked out to Pikes Peak and it was the most relaxing view possible! Breakfast is served a bit late for us early risers, at 8:30 or 9:30 a.m. and you sign up for it. You can get an earlier breakfast if requested of a cinnamon roll and juice. We chose to walk across the street to the Bon Ton, but we have eaten there many, many times before. There is absolutely no reason we would not return the the Old Town GuestHouse for another getaway. I highly recommend you try them out. The personal touches are what make the trip there amazing and totally worth going back for. The air conditioning is a bit loud for sleeping but the ceiling fan helps out there.

Room Tip: The only room we have stayed in is the Moroccan Jasmine but I would recommend it for anyone.

What a nice, candid, review! Thanks, we'll look at your comments and see what we can change. Earlier hot breakfast is possible but Don needs his 'beauty sleep' :-). We'll get you fed next time, but Bon Ton's is pretty good, too.

Accommodations were beautiful. The egg basket seasoned with fresh chives and brown sugar baked bacon were out of this world and had us wanting more. The beds were heavenly, I slept like a baby and did not have the feel of the waterbeds of the past. Loved the location, within walking distance of everything.

Room Tip: If you like red, you will love the decor of the Oriental Poppy.

Don and Shirley are wonderful, The rooms are nice and cozy, the breakfasts and coffee are great. As has been previously been reported here the waterbeds were not great for a good nights sleep for us. Additionally Housekeeping is lacking, we had a room with a balcony hot tub, and frankly it appeared that the Hot tub had not been cleaned in months, as it smelled of old stinky feet, and had a brown ring around the waterline. After one night of not using it due to cleanliness, the housekeeping staff changed the water, but guess what??? The pump didn't work. While Don did his best to make up for it, I don't think we will be coming back.

We regret any stay that's below expectations and especially those that miss the mark by such a wide margin. But the hot tub is inexcusable and we won't offer one other than we screwed up. Those hot tubs are to be cleaned daily and we simply messed up this time.
And the sleep quality - ouch! We love our waveless floatation beds but clearly they're not for everyone. Me, I HATE the rock hard mattresses you get in most hotels but that's just me.
We review our policies, practices and procedures regularly, nothing is fixed in stone except the pledge to strive to improve.
We'd love it if you gave us another chance but understand if you don't.
Take care and stay well!
