We met for a day-long family reunion at a pavilion in Fox Run Regional Park in Colorado Springs. There are open spaces for softball or other games requiring larges open areas. The pavilions are covered with metal roofs and have concrete floors and metal tables. The facilities, tables, grills, etc. are well-maintained and inviting. There are two electrical outlets for use with cooking or cooling appliances or karaoke machines. A surge protector/power strip would be helpful to bring. There are at least six tables with attached benches in a circle with an additional table in the center of the pavilion. Bring umbrella or other folding chairs if more seating is preferred without tables. The pavilions are surrounded by beautiful pine trees. A water supply is provided, but it is either off or full-strength shooting water. Use it with care. One disappointing aspect of this otherwise beautiful park is the restroom facilities. The toilets are not designed to flush (bring your own air freshener spray), and the soap by the sinks was depleted by early in the afternoon. All pavilions were in use, sometimes by more than one party in succession. Make your reservations early in the year to guarantee your place. It's definitely worth the effort!
