“Best way to see Garden of the Gods.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2014

This was the first riding experience for our kids and the stable did not disappoint. We had quiet calm horses that were very responsive to our amateur commands. The kids had helmuts and it was an option for adults. It was misty raining when we rode and rain jackets were provided. This is the best way to see the Garden of the Gods. The guides give a nice narration to the sights. overall enjoyable for novices.

“Great time!”

Fun way to see Garden of the Gods. I agree with all the great reviews. My family were the last 4 in the group so we were at the end of the line. Marlon was the wrangler/guide at the rear of the line and he was great. He seemed to truly enjoy his job and wasn't just going thru the motions. He repeated everything the front guide said so that we could hear and was very engaging. He was very informative about the history of the land and the rock formations and made the rainy day trip lots of fun. .

“Perfect experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2014

We went for the one hour ride around the Garden of the Gods. A gentlman carefully matched the horses to our size and ability. The horses were clean and well-trained. It did not smell like a stable at all, which is a bonus. The guide told us about the rock formations and history of the land. They had enough staff to personally adjust our equipment. The kids really enjoyed their first time on a horse!

“Better than walking through garden of the Gods”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2014 via mobile

This ride takes you through Garden of the Gods. Try to pick a cooler time of day as there is no shade. Very slow going ride but my daughter age 9 loved it. They try to sell you a $10 pic at the end. My 4 yr old did love the 10 minute pony ride that comes with the photo. You do have to arrive 45 min in advance. We did the 1 hr ride which was fine. You can bring a water bottle with you as long as you are not holding it.

“Great way to see Garden of the Gods”

This was an awesome way to see Garden of the Gods. We did the 2 hour ride. Definitely worth the extra time and money. The wranglers and guides at Academy Riding Stables were very good. They took several factors into account before assigning horses to make sure you get the right horse for your experience and size. The first and last 15-20 minutes of the ride are spent riding thru a neighborhood between the stables and the park. Once in the park, our guide pointed out many of the major sites, and had a few stories of his own. The one down side was that there was only one guide for our group of 7. We were about half way back in the group and sometimes it was a little hard to hear the guide. The ride goes from very easy, level riding to actual rock climbing on horses. I've ridden horses and done trial ride several times before and this was definitely one of the better ones. The horses are your typical trial ride horses that basically follow the trail or the horse in front of them, but that gives you time to focus on the beautiful surroundings.
