“Pretty and not crowded”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

This is a newer gem in Colorado Springs that is an extension of the Garden of the Gods. Not handicap friendly. Great trails, most easy to hike or running without the big climbs many of our parks have. Lower elevation means it is clear of snow and ice sooner than higher parks. Parking is easy and free. Enjoy!

“Hiking among the red rocks”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

It's a wonderful place, peaceful long hikes, lovely scenery. It's smaller than Garden of the Gods but no less beautiful. It's sometimes busy on weekends but parking is very good. It is my favorite place to walk and hike since I live just 4 miles away.

“More great rocks”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Get here early to enjoy the park on your own. This is a popular destination for hikers in the Colorado Springs area, and the park gets crowded after 10:30 am.

“Lots of Hiking Options”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Red Rock Canyon Open Space is the rocky continuation of the formation that inhabits its more famous neighbor, Garden of the Gods Park. The Open Space has been reclaimed from quarry and mining operations and has miles of trails of various skill levels that weave among the formations. This is a rugged area, bordering Section 16 wild hiking area at the base of Pikes Peak, so bring your water and supplies and have a great hike!

“Red Rock Canyon Visit”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

We did the hike at the end of our visit to Colorado Springs and after hiking in Garden of the Gods. We both liked the "Garden" better. The Canyon is free with plenty of parking and many trails with nice easy to intermediate effort.
