“Unexpected treasure right in town”
Reviewed May 24, 2012

Red Rock Canyon open space was close to our hotel, so we went over for an early evening hike. I enjoyed it more than Garden of the Gods! It was less crowded, there are lots of options for trails, the formations and the scenery is gorgeous, and there is plenty of parking. We saw lots of wildlife while here. Also, it's very popular for mountain bikes -- looks like great trails for biking! I highly recommend spending some time here while in Colorado Springs!

“Saw this park just after it opened!”

Nice, intown, cool place to go hike around. Just remember, you are in the desert, and there can be some desert type animals and reptiles! Watch your step!

“Good evening hike”
Reviewed May 5, 2012

Went for a hike after work and this was perfect for the first one of the trip. Not as strenuous as Garden of the Gods, but still lots of fun. Wish I had my bike so I could have ridden some of the trails.

“Newer park”
Reviewed May 2, 2012

This park is the southern extension of Garden of the Gods. It's a newer park, so the amenities are just coming on line. But the hikes are lovely.

“Nice hiking spot for all levels”
Reviewed April 27, 2012

Red Rocks Canyon is just across the highway from the Garden of the Gods, but here you are allowed to climb on the rocks a little more. Suitable for all levels of fitness, there is a trail for you. It does get a little hot in the summer, so plan to hike early on those days.
