This was actually our fourth time visiting Amanda's Fonda and we chose this location to the North Academy location because we heard the "good Chef" stayed at the original location. Definitely a family run "feel" but not sure that's a five star comment. Good menu options, service was average without much enthusiasm and the ambiance was "woodsey". The food was good, the platters tend to be smothered with a lot of beans and rice but there is always pretty good flavor. Good quantities and value. Nothing Amanda's can do about it, but I guess I am just disappointed I cannot find outstanding Mexican food in Colorado Springs. Raised in Phoenix and spent a lot of time in NM and TX, but nothing as good migrating up to the Springs
