Description: For over 40 years this family-owned German Restaurant on the south side of Colorado Springs has served over a million happy customers. The restaurant invites guests to dine in one of its several rooms decorated with artifacts from Europe. With strolling musicians on Friday and Saturday nights, three blazing fireplaces in winter, and an authentic "Biergarten" in summer, you are sure to enter into another world as a guest at Edelweiss. The authentic menu with a variety of Old World German dishes includes Schnitzel, Bratwurst, and Sauerbraten, with newer-age items such as Flammekuchen and Maultaschen. For those not so adventurous palates Edelweiss offers other Continental fare such as Chicken Cordon Bleu, Filet Tournedos, or Fresh Salmon Filet. Imported German Beers and Wines can be ordered to compliment any of the flavorful dishes. The European-trained Swiss Pastry Chef bakes all of the desserts from scratch, so save room for one of the rich Tortes or pastries, or take some to go.

“Great German food”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

You just have to have lunch, dinner., or a dessert at Edelweiss., German food at it's best., just like being in Innsburg., and having dinner. Atmosphere is wonderful., and priced right. Atmosphere all year long., especially at Christmas., all decorated and fitted for a Bavarian Christmas dinner., Like I said., food is wonderful., give it a try., and take a trip back to the "old country via Edelweiss, not changing planes., just head on down and enjoy your time there. Also, great seating in the patio area., when weather permits. Enjoy, bye

Good authentic German food, but somewhat overpriced compared to in town competition. Atmosphere is great and staff is helpful and courteous.

“Sehr Gut--Very Good!”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

The authentic German atmosphere instantly sets high expectations for your dining experience. The friendly staff is quick and attentive to their guests. But the main reason you go to a restaurant is for food, and the every menu item truly represents a German palate. Appetizers, entrees, and desserts; each is a delicious level that sends you on your way full and satisfied. Best German food I've had, yet, in the U.S..

“Sgt. Schultz would like to eat here”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

Since I enjoy watching reruns of "Hogan's Heroes" with my favorite character being Sgt. Schultz, I was looking forward to having a meal of Wiener schnitzel from an authentic German Restaurant. The Edelweiss Restaurant not only has really good authentic German food, but an atmosphere that is second to none that brings out the ethnicity of Germany while located in the USA. I had apple strudel for dessert and am confident that anyone who enjoys good German food would eat here on a regular basis. The cost for two meals was just over $30 so it would be a good value for one's money.
