Description: Juniper Valley Ranch opened its doors in 1951 and serves authentic country dinners in a rustic adobe home. Dinners are served family style with a choice of fried chicken or baked ham (and chicken fried steak on Friday nights). Everything is made from scratch daily and meals include an appetizer and seasonal dessert. 4 Generations of the Parker family have ran the restaurant and in 2016 the establishment will celebrate its 65th year of operation. It is a favorite among locals and travelers alike and reservations are recommended by calling ahead.

Remember pan fried chicken? This restaurant does. That's all almost all they do... and there is lots of it and they keep it coming. The meals are served family style with the biscuits and the best gravy ever. (I ended up just eating gravy without even putting it on the fabulous mashed potatoes). This place is out of the way, but famous enough that you really do need reservations.

Those who call this average are either nit picking or self appointed chefs. It is far above average and in my opinion outstanding. There are several unique side dishes and the chicken is world class. Colorado Springs is rapidly becoming a chain restaurant town and Juniper Valley remains the rare family run business with great food and service. We are the third generation to visit there as often as possible.

I very much enjoyed my meal at the Juniper Valley Ranch. I actually appreciated the LACK of choice - I get a bit overwhelmed in a lot of American eateries by too much choice and usually too many ingredients. I particularly liked the biscuits (a bit like scones fellow Brits) with lovely apple butter. Yum! I thought the prices were pretty reasonable and I even got a decent glass of wine for $5 which is reasonable by Colorado standards. I have requested to be taken on my next visit.

Juniper valley is an interesting place. The food is great, but there are only two menu items; fried chicken or ham steak. All the sides are served family style. Great little place to eat, but take cash. The first time I went, I didn't know that and almost had to wash dishes!
