“Small but sumptuous menu”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

Great food. Nice omelets and chicken salad served with crusty baguettes and butter. Great selection of pastries. I met a group of friends and we stayed way past our meal clearing. They were very welcoming and accommodating.

“Great little cafe with delicious food.”
Reviewed May 21, 2012

Wonderful! We stopped by at 2pm in the afternoon and they had coffee happy hour with 1/2 priced coffees. My daughter and I got 2 specialty coffees and 2 pastries for just about $7.00! The server was very nice and brought it all to our table. Very nice! We've been for lunch and dinner before and every time the food is excellent and the service spectacular.

“Delicious French Cuisine”
Reviewed September 10, 2011

We enjoyed a fantastic four course dinner for two for $60. The pate appetizer included fresh fig, grapes, red onions, cherry tomatoes, and fresh French bread beautifully arranged and plentiful for two. We also enjoyed the escargot, which did not fail to impress, sopping up the remaining garlic butter with the slices of French bread. The wedge salad was more than enough for two. The attention to detail in each dish was stupendous. For example, each perfectly ripened cherry tomato was sliced into quarters before arranged on the salad plate. The entrees were fantastic; the beef bourguignon was tender and savory. The sauce we used to dip the bread in. We finished our meal with coffee and strawberries soaked in Merlot served over vanilla ice cream. Delicious.

We visited the restaurant twice more during our stay in Colorado Springs, once for breakfast and also for lunch. Both meals were outstanding. I particularly enjoyed the polish wedding soup at lunch and the French toast with berries at breakfast. The coffee was exceptional as well. I ordered an Americano, which came as espresso served in the cup with a side of hot water. Nice touch.

The restaurant interior is in shear contrast with the exterior. It shares a building with a yoga studio off the main road. The interior is romantically lit with paintings and decorations that really give it a European feel; however, I must admit that when I first walked in it felt like an oversized coffee shop. The printed menu is much better than the menu posted over the counter, which I found difficult to decipher, but don’t let this be dissuasive. Both the cuisine and service were excellent.

There is a subtle difference between good food and great food, between a good restaurant and a great restaurant: quality, detail, flavor, freshness, presentation. This is a good restaurant with great food.
