“what happened”

This place use t be my favorite place to eat... SOMTHING HAPPENED! The crab legs have barely no meat! The fish taste rubbery! The only good things there are the cold shrimp, the sushi, and the grill.

“Poison”
Reviewed February 25, 2008

Ate here once and called it quits after watching a young boy sampling the offerings -- by picking up the food with his hand and putting it back in the trays. I figured hepatitis was a definite possibility. A huge selection or pedestrian Chinese dishes, the usual crab legs and vile sushi. For people with a lot of mouths to feed and could care less what the food tastes like.

“A Hidden Gem in the Springs!!!”
Reviewed January 25, 2008

I can't believe no one has written a fantastic review for Empire yet! This is not only the best buffet in Colorado, but I've yet to find an Asian buffet ANYWHERE that can hold a light to this place!
Sure, the buffet includes the usual Chinese buffet items, sweet and sour this, sesame that, and so on. However, just about every meat dish is cooked to tender perfection.
The sushi counter is amazing! Needless to say, it's included with the buffet. It's not an extensive selection, however the items that it does have are the same quality that you would expect from a sushi restaurant, and for a mere fraction of the price.
There is also a Mongolian bbq wok station, you just choose the ingredients you want and they'll cook and sizzle it up for you, again, it's the same quality as you'd except from a pricey restaurant.
There are also a few dimsum items, mainly dumplings and buns.
The desserts include usual buffet dessert items, jello, pudding, fruit, etc. However, a couple of things totally caught me off guard. This is the only Chinese buffet I've ever been to that serves little egg custard cakes, for all those familiar with authentic Chinese food, you know what I'm talking about. There are also these flaky cookies that I can only find in Asian supermarkets.
The salad bar has everything you'd except to find there, and it also includes seaweed salad and squid salad. (I don't care what ya'll think, I LOVE me some squid!)
For dinner and the weekends, the place serves snow crab legs and frog legs (again, I don't care what ya'll think...gotta love those frog legs, and they really do taste like chicken.)
The service is always friendly and quickly clears away your dishes and the place is always clean.
And as if all this isn't enough, the price is beyond reasonable. It's $7 for lunch, and $11 for dinner and the weekends. Soft drinks are less than $1.50, with free refills of course.
Needless to say, I HIGHLY recommend this place for anyone, locals and travelers.
