While I walked our two little doggies on the expanse of grass behind the restaurant, my husband avoided the line by taking a small round elevated table near the bakery case in the front and ordered a Lambburger with seasoned Fries for himself and Crab Cakes & Salad for me with a couple of local beers to wash it all down with. The Lambburger was juicy and cooked to perfection, the Fries were crispy and golden with just the right amount of spice, the Crab Cake was 99.9% pure crab meat, and the Salad of Spring Greens was fresh & lightly dressed. Meanwhile, we "cased" the enormous selection of home baked pastries for our dessert selections--ending up with a chocolate eclair (him) and a lime tart (me). The generous portions also left us with a crab cake and fries to take home for lunch. So, next time you are in Colorado Springs, a visit to Marigold's and a hike at the Garden of the Gods to work off those irresistable pastries should definitely be on your itinerary!
