Description: Tucanos is an experiential dining, family-friendly destination that combines the unique serving style of the traditional Brazilian grilling, referred to as "churrasco" (shoe-HAS-ko) - an exhibition-style meal surrounded by flames and colors, with the flair and festivity of the beaches of Rio de Janeiro. The cuisine features specially seasoned or marinated meats and vegetables (nearly 20 varieties), grilled and then served hot off the skewers at each table until the guest's appetite is fully gratified. Guests will find one-of-a-kind touches at the restaurant abound, including the color-coded, Tucanos Cue. Placing the Tucanos cue green side up lets the entree servers know that guests would like the parade of seasoned meats, vegetables and fresh pineapple brought to the table. Expertly trained meat servers then slice sizzling portions off skewers directly onto diners' plates. Tucanos also offers an abundant and award-winning Salad Festival, featuring more than 70 items.

“Great Tastes, Perhaps a Little Pricey”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2013

The salad bar is excellent with a wide variety of fresh choices. Circulating servers with a variety of meats on large skewers and you chose what you want as they come around. A good place for a change of pace from the ordinary.

“Brazilian Churrascaria at its lowest denominator”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

I have tried giving this restaurant a higher score but have been unable to. I first experienced the Tucanos extravaganza at their grand opening...the music (pumped in Carnival style disco) was too loud the waiters had to shout. The salad bar although festive did not hold a candle to some of the Brazilian restaurants in Denver wwhere the cheese bread is served fresh to the individual party not left in a basket to get cold and dry, one of the main complaints from patrons at Tucanos.. The meats were disappointing as this restaurant believes that less is more...the quarter size portions per cut let you wanting. The sirloin was dry and chewy but since this was their grand opening you expected some problems. Six months later we tried the experience once more and got more of the same. Poor quality...chewy and dry meat, small portions..poor service..our server although attentive insisted on carving one piece per person., It gives you the impression that this restaurant is holding back. Also the time between servers was approximately ten to fifteen minutes so you sat with an empty plate for most of the night. Now in diet circles this is called catch up it lets the stomach catch up to the brain. So you feel fuller on less...which makes this restaurant very cost effective on their end but poor value to the customer even the manager agreed that they were not on the same level as the Denver Churrascaria's.. It speaks volumes that the manager acknowledges their faults but like most chains their concerns are volume sales not quality product, and as long as the seats get filled with the uninformed customer they will not change their product or delivery.

My advice save up a little more money and make the trip to Denver. Especially if its a first time to a Brazilian Churrascaria Try Fogo De Chao's weakly luncheon to keep the dollar value similar; around $26.50 their dinner option is $46.50 but the food is much superior, and their selection on the salad bar is top notch and clean. The service is 5 star and the portions are better, the gaucho will prepare your meat to your satisfaction and cut you as much as you want no holding back here. As for Tucanos..after a total of three trips....and no improvement Tucanos is off my list. Adios Adios Adios

“Tucanos - great new dining experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

Tucanos is a Brazilian Grill in Colorado Springs, CO. There are quite a few throughout the U.S. About 6 years ago we were in Baltimore, MD for a international convention and went to a Brazilian restaurant there. We enjoyed the experience so much that when Tucanos opened up here we had to try it. Their food is top quality. The idea is that you have servers come to your table with a meat selection that is on a skewer which you can grab with your tongs or say no thank you. Then another server appears with another selection. This goes on until you are either full or you want a breather. Then you upend a wooden piece which has red, yellow and green colors on it. If you want to wait, turn it to red. When you are ready for more, turn it to green. It is all you can eat and then some. It is quite reasonable. They have a huge salad bar but don't overdo that or you can't enjoy all the good hot meats and vegetables offered. Have been their twice and each time it was great.

“Very Different and Unique Dining Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

This place rocks. The salad bar is one of the best I have ever seen. You can order just what you want from the menu, or you can take their experience, and that I highly recommend. You have unlimited salad bar ( which has hot and cold items ), and then as you are eating, they come around with a rotation of waiters that slice off meat and vegetables from a skewer. They will rotate over and over until you don't want anymore. I also highly recommend trying the fried bananas on the salad bar. They are delicious, and I don't remember tasting bananas that were that sweet since my childhood or even ever. It is great. Really.
