Description: Tucanos is an experiential dining, family-friendly destination that combines the unique serving style of the traditional Brazilian grilling, referred to as "churrasco" (shoe-HAS-ko) - an exhibition-style meal surrounded by flames and colors, with the flair and festivity of the beaches of Rio de Janeiro. The cuisine features specially seasoned or marinated meats and vegetables (nearly 20 varieties), grilled and then served hot off the skewers at each table until the guest's appetite is fully gratified. Guests will find one-of-a-kind touches at the restaurant abound, including the color-coded, Tucanos Cue. Placing the Tucanos cue green side up lets the entree servers know that guests would like the parade of seasoned meats, vegetables and fresh pineapple brought to the table. Expertly trained meat servers then slice sizzling portions off skewers directly onto diners' plates. Tucanos also offers an abundant and award-winning Salad Festival, featuring more than 70 items.

We ate lunch at Tucanos which is a great deal. $13.95 pp for lunch $20.95 for dinner and I think you get exactly the same food. Our table was very cold but it was near the glass firehouse doors that perhaps are opened in the summer? Ask to be seated away from the doors on a cold day/night. Even after complaining the waitress did not offer to reseat us. I had my winter coat on throughout the meal.

I think many people approach this meal as we did. Start at the salad bar and load up and eat a plate long before you see any meat. Might be good to turn your indicator to green and start getting meat immediately to eat along with the salad bar. The meat initially came out too slowly but the waitress asked us if it was coming out fast enough and we said "no." Thereafter, we had no problems with speed of service. There are 12 kinds of meat and we loved that we could sample them all. My favorites were definietly the beef dishes, Would be nice if they had lamb. It is unlimited service, so go hungry!!

We did complain that the soup at the sald bar was not hot. It was luke-warm. On a cold day, I was really hoping for a bite of hot soup!

Biggest drawback is defninely the atmosphere. Sounded like a school cafeteria. All hard surfaces. We were surprised. The restarurant is decorated really well and we expected it to be a "nice" restaurant. I agree with the other reviewer who said maybe a fun outing with friends, not a romantic dinner for 2.

We will return. We think our 17 yr old son will enjoy it, maybe for his birthday.

Maybe they were going for the chilly atmosphere thing? Is there such a thing? The toilet seat was freezing as was the water in the men's room. Warm it up guys!

Very unique and fun restaurant. We went on a pretty crowded night, and we still had great service and the food was very fresh and good too. We didn't go to the salad bar, but it looked pretty standard.

Went here with a large party of 14, had a fantastic time. The parmasan Beef is just divine. Highly recommend to anyone with an appetite in the Colorado Springs area.

We decided we would try this due to some friends raving about it. We got a pretty good deal for we were celebrating two birthdays. We had earlier signed up for the birthdays and received two free birthday meal cards. It was interesting to note that even when we showed the birthday cards at the start of our dinner we never did get a birthday song at our table. Anyway the meat was very good and the server explained everything to us and was super courteous. Everytime we asked a question he seemed to enjoy having someone actually talk vice just look for another piece of meat. Every new meat he brought he told us what it was and we tried I think everything that was brought around. Nothing that was brought was beyond anything I have cooked for dinner for myself and family but what made it special was getting to sample all the different varieties in one sitting. There is also a huge salad bar, some the items were very good and some were just your average pasta salads. I did go back for seconds on the Lobster Bisque. But let me warn you to go slow on the salad bar if you plan to try all the meats. This is definately a place to try at least once, but personally it would have to be another special occasion for me to go back.

Interesting place but a little confusing for a first timer. The server had to give us a fairly lengthy explanation of the process as we ordered their special "all you can eat". The menu then listed all of the meat "bites" that would be brought around during the course of the the dinner. However, once they took the menu away, we had no idea what we were missing as the servers brought random selections of "bites". As a result, we didn't know, in the end, what we had not been served!!! The salad bar was very nicely done and very tasty. But don't load up on the salad bar as you will fill up very quickly when the "bites" start coming around. The service was great as Audrey was politely watching for any needs that we may have had. The trainee Lauren was also very polite and wanted to make sure that we were well taken care of.

SUGGESTION FOR THE CUSTOMER: KEEP THE MENU AT YOUR TABLE SO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE AND HAVE NOT BEEN SERVED WHEN THE "BITES" START COMING AROUND.

SUGGESTION FOR THE MANAGEMENT: CREATE A LAMINATED CARD SO THE CUSTOMER CAN KEEP TRACK OF THE DIFFERENT "BITES" THAT HAVE BEEN SERVED AND USE A DRY ERASE TECHNIQUE SO THE CARDS CAN BE REUSED. AFTER ALL, THE UNIQUE "BITES" IDEA IS THE "BREAD AND BUTTER" OF YOUR BUSINESS.

A little pricey but WE still left very satisfied that we had a nice evening out.
