We decided to try Rasta Pasta because I knew ahead of time that I could get dairy/gluten free meals there. Food prices are very reasonable with lunch or dinner served all day long. lunch prices are very inexpensive and a good sized portion. Dinners are huge and I ate about a third of my plate and was full. Very well flavoured and a good range of different choices. Highly recommend!

Rasta Pasta is located on north Tejon between Colorado College and the main drag of Colorado Springs. Our family dropped by to eat just before the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo parade. We didn't know it in advance but the outside dining could be reserved which would have provided an awesome location for viewing the parade. As it was, we sat just inside viewing the preliminaries through the great west-facing windows. The menu was varied with vegan and gluten-free offerings. Our two pre-schoolers had several choices of kid-friendly pasta and juices. The adult portions are offered in lunch and dinner sizes, the dinner being just less than twice the lunch size. We all ordered lunch sizes which were equivalent or larger to what you would get at Olive Garden for a main entree. The physical plates are colorful accents to the freshly prepared food which is pleasing to the eye as well as palate. This was our second visit in the past year and well worth it. Very dependable service and consistent food.

The food tasted wonderful and we were able to use our leftovers for lunch the following day. This made it even more affordable! It is a university cafe like setting which made the excellence of the cuisine a true surprise. Having only streetside parking may turn some people off, but I suggest you give it a try anyhow.

Rasta Pasta doesn't look like much - funky decor, cement floors, and laid-back atmosphere. But the experience and the food is fantastic.

When you come in, the cook welcomes you from the window into the kitchen by saying, "Hi, welcome - sit anywhere you like!" Their website calls their menu "a fusion of Caribbean and Italian flavors", and it is truly unique. The servers are happy to give you ordering advice and the food comes quickly. Our favorite is the Natural Mystic - jerk chicken and pasta in a pineapple curry sauce - delicious! Also the Tortellini Jamaica Mon - cheese-stuffed tortellini in a sauce with pineapple, banana slices and grapes - you have to taste it to believe it! Food is served hot, and you can get plenty of spicy garlic bread. They will adjust the "heat" of the dishes from mild to "Feel the heat", to "Feel the burn" to "Feel the pain". They have lots of vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan options. Their salads are fresh, with lots of veggies and house-made dressings. Lunch portions of their pasta dishes are available all day, and for us they are usually plenty. They have a good kids menu - with so many pasta options, you can't go wrong!

Their small bar serves all kinds of alcoholic beverages, including Red Stripe beer and various rum drinks. You can sit and listen to the reggae music, and they have free wi-fi, too. Their outside patio is sunny, and a great place to bring a small, well-behaved dog.

If you're in Colorado Springs, you have to try this place - between downtown and Colorado College on North Tejon.
