The Hotel is gorgeous, the Creole restaurant was very good and everyone was helpful and nice. I LOVED the bathroom with the huge shower and very modern design. The coffee maker was out and easy to use, the TV is big flat screen, exposed brick of a classic building with high ceilings and very modern "W" type styling. A perfect mix of classic and curren. The bed was very comfortable bed. The only negative was that the bedroom felt dark with two small wall lamps and two over shoulder reading lights. There is beautiful original art throughout the hotel and in the room with a spotlight on it in the room. The light was easy to turn on with a single touch, but it would not turn off and I ended up using a bathroom towel to take out the hot bulb to go to sleep. This was a tiny inconvenience in an otherwise 4 star hotel.

The Valet was a wonderful young man who gave me an excellant first impression. Check in was a breeze and the staff was wonderful, helpful and fun. I love smiles and good humor and they really loved their jobs and helping out.
The rooms are a little small but are packed full of luxury and amenities. It was also suprising how quiet the rooms were..we never heard a sound from the street or hallways..Good night sleep. It was a wonderful, cozy, romantic room in this old historic building. It is the attention to detail that impressed me..
We had our X-mas dinner party next door at Springs Orleans and then sat in the Hotel Lobby for hours on the comfy couches enjoying wine and and all the decorations. I felt at home and the service was outstanding.
We want to come back in the summer and sit outside and enjoy their outside sitting areas..it looked so inviting.

Only downside for us - Bar is lacking some basic liquor options such as Frangelico, Creme de Ment and a few others.. that was odd

Room Tip: Staff raved about how nice the Jr suite is.. want to upgrade next visit..

What a great stay at The Mining Exchange. We stayed overnight for our 26th Anniversary. We were treated like King and Queen. The staff was very friendly and took care of our every request (we had a few). They actually went beyond just our requests and provided us with more. The lobby is very inviting. We enjoyed sitting in the lobby and just chatting, or sitting next to the fireplace. The bank vault in the lobby is a great tribute to the original bank that was there. Our room was spectacular. You can not find a room this nice anywhere in this city at this price! We enjoyed the tall ceilings, quietness, comfortable bed, and the fantastic bathroom. We stayed in a junior suite which had a large bathtub and a separate shower with 2 shower heads. The shower alone is worth the price! Room service was quick and the food was delicious. We did not eat at the restaurant but we will definitely show up there for dinner sometime. The french onion soup during room service was exceptional. The bartender mixed up an excellent drink. Overall we were very satisfied with our care and comforts which all added up to a memorable anniversary celebration. Thanks for bringing this great hotel to Colorado Springs.
Note - there is no swimming pool here but there is a fitness room with high quality equipment.
