“For a cozy evening with friends”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

Expect to wait for a table at this cozy little restaurant. And no apologies need be offered. They simply can not rush the excellence they serve. But it's a small place and worth waiting for. Great tapas (small plates of food), served hot, paired with wonderful, worldly wines. Nothing comes out quickly, and that feels so right here. Tapas are generous enough to be shared with a table of 4, and you can just keep ordering until satiation occurs. Like a European dining experience, it just goes on and on, getting better and better. A great experience, best shared with dear friends.

“Great food, great patio”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

Love sitting on the patio out back having a tempranillo and sipping their inspirational gazpacho. Get the egg and anchovies tapas and the flat breads with roasted tomatoes. Good wine selection and a fabulous selection of tapas for everyone from vegetarians to meat eaters.

“Best Bites--Just Right”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

Wonderful cuisine, fresh, organic ingredients and culinary skill make for a wonderful dining experience. You can get wine in small quantities to accompany your "bites" as well so you can try different ones. The space is very small so you may have a hard time getting a table. Sit at the bar area where you can watch the magic unfold and enjoy the energy of the chefs and servers. Or find a table by the window and people-watch while you spend time with friends. Most dishes are easily shared and so you can try a bunch of different dishes. The restaurant's owner's also have Pizza Rustica and while they don't have the green designation, Tapateria incorporates many of the earth-friendly principles as well. This is a great place to come with friends to enjoy good food.

“Yummy tapas!”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

Old Colorado City enjoys a great tapas restaurant! We were a group of eight and they were able to set up a table for us. The place is not large but was comfortable. The service was excellent. We ordered the plates and they came out in a steady stream. I didn't have one plate that I did not enjoy and we tried many different ones. The stuffed peppers, eggs, mushroom toast, tuna carpaccio were among my favorites, but I didn't have any I didn't like. I thought the portions were generous and much less expensive than other tapas places I have visited. I also enjoyed the desert tapas! I would definitely return when I next visit Colorado Springs.

“Good food, great location”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

This little gem of a restaurant is terrifically located in the Old Colorado City area of Colorado Springs. Lots of quaint shops and restaurants line the street and this restaurant really drew us into its doors.

The decor is kind of funky/loft style with exposed brick walls, wood floors, pressed tin ceiling and more. There isn't a ton of room to the place, but we happened by on a Tuesday afternoon so it was not crowded.

The wait staff took good care of us with helpful suggestions from their menu. We requested a 'chef's selection' charcuterie plate and the meats and cheeses presented to us were all very tasty. None of it was incredibly unique in terms of selection, but good quality and well priced.

We also ordered a few small plates off the menu. I didn't find the mushroom dish to be all that amazing, but everything was good. The chocolate bread was a delish way to end the meal.

Overall, I think this should be a stop when in Colorado Springs.
