Owner description: Starr Kempf Sculpture Garden - private property and not a business open to public

For anyone who enjoys large, moving, outdoor sculptures, Starr Kempf's work should not be missed. A tremendously gifted artist and engineer of his materials, Starr Kempf sadly ended his life prematurely in suicide. His works are among the best of their type that I have seen globally - paralleled only by some of the great works in The Kroller Mueller outdoor sculpture park in the Netherlands. (See my review of Kroller Mueller).

The soaring, gleaming stainless steel wind sculptures created by the late artist Starr Kempf are one of those hidden gems folks love to discover. Tucked in Cheyenne Canon, at the corner of Pine Grove and Evans Avenue, the sculptures are a delight. They are in the yard of his private home. There are no facilities. It's a drive-by viewing opportunity only.

So sorry that the neighbors complained about all the traffic at the specific location, but the sculptures around town are so cool. Another must see in Colorado Springs.

We found this by pure accident. We had been driving around looking at houses and neighborhoods when I saw this creepy bird turning to look at us! We stopped for a few minutes and took pictures but thought we might be invading privacy of a residence. Very cool sculptures

Our son is 13 and is a like a mini- engineer so this was right up his alley. I want to do some research on Starr to get a glimpse on what type of person he was to be able to create this art!
