Go for the wine paired 7 cvourses. You will not regret it! Lila & the band are exceptionally good, too.

As you get off the elevator, hidden near the window, is a plaque. To paraphrase, it says, "The Penrose Room, Rated One of the Best in the WORLD for 2012." Nothing could be more true! From the moment you get off the elevators you take a step back in time to when dining was truly an experience. And, don't let the ambiance fool you, this experience is a 21st century treat.

This is our sixth visit to this wonderful place. We tend to save this for special events. Believe me, you can not and will not go wrong and just like everything in life, there is a price to pay. The service was impeccable and the food world class. Many times, this type of restaurant can be overbearing. Not the case here. If you have a question, or would like to modify the menu slightly, just let them know. This time, we ordered the four-course dinner and we asked if they could also do wine pairings with the courses. Without hesitation the answer was "of course!"

If you're looking for a special place for a very special experience, this is definitely a World Class experience.

The food is extraordinary and beautifully presented. Three of us had red meat dishes and one had the halibut, and we were all raving about the food. There was a wonderful trio playing and singing old tunes and quite a few couples (including us) were dancing to them. On top of that, unlike any other restaurant I've been to, the wait staff was serving the food with rhythm and timing that was impeccable (like a ballet). They would serve the food and reveal the dishes for each diner at one time. My father had a Caesar salad that was prepared at the table with flourish.

Plan to wear your formal attire, spend a LOT of money, and enjoy one of the best dining experiences on earth!

Our family enjoyed a memorable Easter brunch at the Penrose Room and it was a throwback to the old elegant restaurants of yesteryear; yet it also was comtemporary enough so no "musty" feel here! The decor was soothing as were the musicians playing and there were plenty of outstanding choices at the buffet tables. Bottom line: it was the finest buffet brunch I've ever had and in my opinion, sets the standard for all others . Our three children: 15, 21 and 24, all thought it was "aces" as well. For those who want a great dining experience at a fabulous property, go check out the Penrose Room at the Broadmoor. Leave time to check out the rest of the grounds too, as there are not many properties left like this one.

This restaurant has been voted one of the best restaurants in the world by Fodors for 2012 and there is a reason why....because it is! We sat on the mountain side overlooking the lake at sunset and it is one of the prettiest spots in all of Colorado Springs.

Service was perfect, every person spoke to us by name throughout the evening. They offer only a prix fix menu at 3, 4, 7 or chefs tastings courses. Prices start at $68 for the 3 course fixed menu. I opted for the 4 course and has tuna tartare with shaved truffles, Diver scallops with truffles, a cheese course and desert. It actually turned out to be 7 courses because we also received an amuze bouche, a pinot noir gelee with grapes and some chocolate truffles at the end of the night. We also received a "gift" of homemade marshmallows that we took home. Live music added to the evening and the attention to detail is amazing..

Their wine list is extensive and their sommelier is very knowledgeable. This was an exquisite dinner in the most beautiful setting in Colorado Springs.
