“Spurs-n-Lace was Super-n-Lovely”
Reviewed September 25, 2007

We spent 3 nights here with Leo and Sharen and it was absolutely fabulous. The beds were super comfortable and the rooms were well insulated so you couldn't hear noises. It was such a great location. We strolled the streets just outside the door during the "Scarecrow Days" festivities and enjoyed the Colorado scenery and local craftsmen. Leo was an excellent host and wonderful chef. Our breakfasts were delicious, with fresh fruit and quiches and baked casseroles. Leo ate breakfast with us and talked with us about life in Colorado Springs and anything else we wanted to talk about. It made us feel like we were visiting relatives and getting to know them better. This is what we look for in a B&B. Thanks, Leo and Sharen. We will see you again when we go to Colorado Springs!!!

  • Liked — The innkeepers, the food, the location. . .
  • Disliked — Breakfast at 8. I would have liked 9 better!!

We had a wonderful time at this B&B. Leo and Sharon were excellent hosts. The room was comfy, quiet, and clean, and the breakfast was tasty. After waking up with a cup of coffee on the porch, we had lively conversation at the breakfast table.

I am not sure why the other reviewer was not comfortable. If you don't like to spend time with other people, then don't stay at a B&B - stay at a hotel where everyone is anonymous. Personally, I enjoy when the hosts interact with the guests, rather than just appear and disappear. It gives us a flavor of the area when you are traveling and helps us learn things we otherwise wouldn't know. Leo and Sharon were delightful!

This B&B is also well located to all the attractions in Colorado Springs, without being in the middle of tourist he**. You can walk to places in the Old Town section to shop of have dinner. I would definitely give this place a high rating.

We stayed here a couple of years ago; It was the first time I've ever felt uncomfortable in a B&B. and we've stayed in many over the past decade. The host was extremely talkative and my husband & I didn't feel like we had privacy in the evening or at the breakfast. We were also disappointed with the quality of the furnishings/bed, and we stayed in the suite. I certainly couldn't recommend it based on our one stay.

my wife and i visited spurs and lace over a weekend and had a wonderful time. the host was very pleasant to visit with, and he is a wonderful cook to boot!! breakfast was my favorite time of the stay. the food was excellent, as well as the visitation at the table. no one wanted to get up and rush away, because the conversation was so great. the house is beautiful, and very old. the stairs have a squeek when you walk up them, so being sneaky is out of the question. we loved our stay, and would stay there again in a heartbeat. rick and cathie parker

My boyfriend and I stayed at Sprus and Lace and found the hosts to be very friendly and the B&B was very nice. Breakfast was simply wonderful and the rooms were beautiful. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the hospitality. It is a romantic destination for those who would like to get away and enjoy the company of their companion. The prices were more than reasonable and it is a place we plan to return again and again becuase it is altogether unbeatable.
