“Great views, a bit outdated”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

The views from the lodge and guest rooms are incredible. That alone should earn 5 stars. The place feels like an old-fashioned country club and could use some updating. The rooms are huge and are very comfortable. My only complaints are:

1. Each room has a balcony, and each balcony is separated by a metal screen. It was really windy the night we stayed, and the wind blowing against the metal screens sounded like a freight train. We didn't get much sleep. At the very least, the screens need to be louvred instead of solid so the wind can blow through them.

2. Nobody told us that the famous dining room would be closed during our stay. We even asked about it at checkin, and the gal at the front desk said it would be open until 9:00 pm. When we called later to make reservations, we were told it was not open. We ended up eating at the bar.

We would probably stay there again, as long as wind was not in the forecast.

Dear Jeremy - Thank you choosing our Resort for your February visit to Colorado Springs. We are so pleased that you enjoyed our incredible view and spacious guest room. However, we wanted to address your two complaints.

1. We are sorry to hear that you didn't have a peaceful nights rest due to the rattling screens on the balcony. The winds can be treacherous, as you very well know living in Parker, CO and we try to tighten the balcony dividers that loosen from the wind on a routine basis. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our engineering department has taken care of this issue.

2. It is our goal to always serve guests in the Dining Room if it is not sold out or being reserved for an event. In the occasion that the Dining Room has been reserved, the Lounge becomes the main area of service. We apologize that the Front Desk did not make this clear upon your arrival. We are reviewing all dining aspects in the coming weeks, so the Front Desk and dining staff will be more accommodating.

We hope that this clears some of your concerns and that you do continue to keep us in mind when travelling to Colorado Springs!

This resort was on a beautiful piece of property that overlooks Garden of the God's park perfectly. Immediately upon check-in we were surrounded by wildlife. There were mule deer and bunnies outside our window every day. We had a spectacular view of the nature park from our bed. We loved turning on and off the fireplace with a switch. Only negatives: The room was too hot and dry. Even after turning off the heat and we live in Florida. There is an additional resort fee of $15 a day we thought unnecessary because we didn't read the paper, use the spa or gym.

We arrived early in the morning while it was still dark outside. After a couple hours sleep, we pushed the wooden blinds to the side and found ourselves speechless at the view. Everything from the fireplace in the room, to the deer walking right outside your patio area, to the view, to the front desk staff, to housekeeping, all so far above expectations, again speechless. The golf course staff and course itself, awesome and enjoyable experience. Friendly courteous staff, made us feel like members and not visitors. Comparing pictures on the web to what we actually got to see / experience: As crazy as it may seem, real life was better. Most of the time its just the opposite. Pictures are staged to impress and "sell" the experience. At Garden of the Gods, no need to stage anything, its just that amazing and beautiful. The pictures on the website will not prepare you for what you will actually see - AMAZING! The double queen room was very spacious, with walk in closet, separated vanity sinks, refrigerator, plenty of cabinets for storage, sitting area for wife to do makeup, hair, and such. Turn the fireplace on with a flick of a switch. Simply put, there were no downsides to this facility. Im going online now to reserve my stay here for our next trip to Colorado Springs. This will be the only place we will ever stay.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms in the south resort room area. Wildlife walks up and around daily. Killer views of T...

I had the pleasure of staying at Garden of the Gods for 2 nights. This resort is wonderful!! You can tell that it is older, but it has been very well maintained, so it doesn't feel old. The grounds are very well kept and the location is unreal!! You cannot get any closer to the beautiful mountains without being in the Garden of the Gods park! Every room has a view of the mountains and large "Sedona like" rock statues. The room we stayed in was VERY spacious and clean. We had a fireplace and two sinks in the bathroom with a walk in closet and a seperate room for the shower/toliet. Plenty of in room ammenities ( Bath and Body Works shower products) and a fridge. No microwave though. We enjoyed watching the mule deer come right to the property in the morning and hangout around the pretty reflection pond. Our kids took advantage of the outdoor infinity swimming pool ( usually it is adults only but it was very slow when we were there so the staff gave us the ok) which is kept at 87 degrees! That made for some wonderful memories as well! Each staff member we encountered was polite and very helpful. We had breakfast both mornings at the restaurant in the resort and it was yummy and VERY affordable. Again, friendly staff and an amazing view! You must stay at this hotel when visiting Colorado Springs!

A wonderful place with a view and a pool outdoors, and good, healthy food. The rooms are big and you can walk to the Garden of the gods park. All the employees were really nice. Unfortunately we forgot a shirt and bathing trunks in a room and they disappeared, very unexpected in a hotel of this quality. But everything else was wonderful.

First of all, let me preface this review with the fact that we lived in CS for 30 years without ever stepping foot on the grounds of this wonderful resort. We had an excellent stay and loved the intimacy of this 79 room resort. We were lucky and got a room with a fireplace and a great view of Pikes Peak. Wish we had had time to enjoy the pool and gym area. Don't forget to ask for AARP discount. We will only stay here during future visits to CS. Excellent location.
