“Great place to stay!”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

We stayed here on our first trip to Colorado on June 16-21. Room was super clean and comfortable and it had a little private balcony with a fantastic view. We could actually just lay in bed and see that same beautiful view. Very nice and quiet pool area which also had fantastic views. Service at the restaurant bar was excellent. Great location if your are going to enjoy all the Pike's Peak area attractions.

We only found 2 negatives with this hotel. The service at the pool bar was minimal. I would have loved it if the servers out there were more attentive and I probably would have spent way more money on drinks. The 2nd negative occurred after we returned home. We realized a receipt discrepancy on our credit card statement and called them to resolve it. After 3 calls, we still did not get to speak to a manager. Unfortunately, no one ever called us back.

Overall, this was a great hotel and we would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The second floor rooms do have a great view, but you can also see the parking lot of the Garden of t...

We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a Jr. Suite on the second floor. The view is spectacular from all rooms. All the rooms come with a balcony that besides the great view of Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak also provides wild life viewing. Every day we saw deer and bunnies. The location is great! We rented a car from the Denver airport and drove down. It took about an hour and a half. We were close to Manitou Springs, Cog train to Pikes Peak, Cave of the Winds, Cliff Dwellers, Seven Falls, Old Colorado City. We did just about everything from the tourist brochure that we could squeeze in on our 3 days. We even did a one hour morning horse back ride through Garden of the Gods! We would definitely return to this hotel. The room was great and the view was well worth the expense.

A beautiful place in a lovely location. ...great service, food and room. Many thanks to Tara for her assistance with our reservation..a gracious, helpful person. It was a busy time yet she had time for us!

A memorable weekend. we wanted to see the Garden of the Gods once more time and found the perfect place...such a view and so much more. We had dinner on the balcony and breakfast in the restaurant. Good wine in the afternoon at the bar. And o the poo ln the early morning...

Room Tip: We were in a gorgeous suite.

We stayed here three nights with our three kids. We had a king room with sofa and roll-away bed (free). The room view was absolutely unmatched!! Gorgeous looks at the mountains and Garden of the Gods. We enjoyed the private balcony so much..many sightings of wildlife on the grounds - even deer right up on the property. Inside the room we appreciated the gas fireplace, massive vanity area with 2 sinks, large walk-in closet (no dressers, though), flat screen tv (but needs upgraded to HDTV!!!). Staff very friendly and helpful. No microwave in room but lounge did heat up our leftover pizza one night!

The only tiny bummer is that the totally rocking family pool is a two mile drive away. It's in a gated community, has food options (snack/cafe), lots of seating and tables including cabanas. It's so worth the short drive though!

Very close proximity to shopping/dining, manitou springs, Air Force academy, across street from Garden of the Gods. For the view and location, this is an excellent value!

"The Lodge at the Garden of the Gods" is absolutely wonderful! I flew into Denver, rented a car and drove to Colorado Springs- well, first I must say that the morning I was to fly in, the fires started there, so I called to see if any of the roads were blocked. The woman who answered the phone was extremely polite and reassuring that everything would be ok.

The politeness continued throughout the visit there. (There was one woman at the front who was a teensy bit snobby, but I heard that she was evacuated from her home, so needless to say, this was on her mind.)

The room was spectacularly clean, quite spacious and full of the amenities you'd expect; shower cap, shampoo, lotions, etc.

ALL the rooms face the garden of the gods, and watching the sun set over them was breathtaking.

Also, I was treated to a special show by three rabbits and a few deer on the lawn right below my balcony. This was really cool.

I swam that afternoon in the salt water pool (I don't normally care for salt water pools, as they tend to dry out my skin, and I was already in a dry climate) so I didn't stay in there too long. The pool has a view of the garden of the gods as well. Also, this is an infinity pool, which I didn't quite understand the meaning of until I got in. The side of the pool has the water falling beneath and then I assume recycled. That was kinda cool.

I didn't take advantage of anything else the hotel has to offer, but they do have a spa and a restaurant.

Room Tip: All of them face the garden of the gods.

When you stay at the Lodge you are largely paying for the incomparable location and vistas. The rooms are adequate but there are countless examples of lack of attention to detail - - from the room furnishings which are ordinary with no sense of style or comfort to housekeeping which is unskilled. The staff at reception are poorly trained and unknowledgable. The dining staff, on the other hand, was very accommodating and helpful. Guests should be aware that because of the hotel's location it is frequently used as a venue for special occasions such as weddings and bridal showers, from which the hotel no doubt profits handsomely but from which guests cannot escape in the public areas. The room rates at the Lodge should warrant a higher quality of guest services and accommodations. Shockingly, in an locale which prides itself as being pristine, the hotel has NO recycling program and the staff seems completely clueless about such a concept.
