“Incredible View, Comfortable, Good Location, Noisy Floor”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2013

There were a lot of positives about this hotel. The view was incredible. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. There was a lot of closet space and a dual vanity. However, if you want to sleep and you're on the first floor, forget it if the person above you wants to stay up until 1:00 am. You can hear everything through the floor. It must be an old structure or not built well. I only slept a few hours two nights that we were there because of the noise. The first night I tried to call the front desk, but no one answered. After three tries, my husband had to walk up to the front desk and tell them about the noise. It didn't stop even after we complained. I think the noise was due to the failure of the structure of the hotel and not so much the people above us. Also, do not book room 102 if you want a really great view. We could see the mountains, but we had to go outside and look around the corner of the room next to us to see the red rocks of Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak. The furniture and carpet seemed a little dated, but it didn't feel unclean at all, and I'm very picky about cleanliness. The fireplace was also nice, and the hotel was conveniently located to everything we wanted to see and do in Colorado Springs. We didn't visit the spa or eat at the hotel.

Room Tip: Room 102's view of Pikes Peak is blocked by room 103 on the first floor.

Thanks for your feedback. We're glad that you enjoyed your stay overall and the close proximity of our Lodge to local attractions. Since guest rooms were built several decades ago with hearty construction techniques, noise complaints from guests are actually fairly rare here, with many guests actually raving about the quiet, tranquil nature of our resort. We truly apologize that sound from the room above you affected your sleep quality. Once again, we appreciate your review and wish you the best, wherever your future travels may take you.

We enjoyed a clean and spacious south patio room in the middle of April while visiting Colorado Springs to enjoy some outdoor activities. Our room faced the Garden of the Gods rock park and it was just breathtaking to wake every morning to such a spectacular view. The amenities were perfect for our stay...free wi-fi, mini fridge, bottled water, coffee maker in the room. The blocks of rooms are located separately off the main lodge so we drove to our room after check-in. We looked for a place like this to enjoy the most privacy. We would stay here again and recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for a south patio room for the best views.

Just returned from a fabulous three day stay. Gorgeous place with lovely accommodations, great service from friendly employees, beautiful grounds, amazing view, excellent food and the best hot tub ever- it was actually hot enough to be called a hot tub.

What a magnificent view. Had visited area before but not this lodge, from our window & patio we looked out over the beautiful Garden of the Gods and snow covered Pike's Peak.
great room with lots of space in room and double areas with basins and separate shower room.
We ate in the bar and had a great meal with same great view, nice log fire and good selection of food & drink.
Likewise breakfast was great, for $10 extra we had a really nice breakfast for two and could add or substitute at reasonable prices, great dining room with same fantastic views.
Has Sauna, steam and outdoor heated pool included in price. Also spa & golf available.
Excellent value and I thought the extra $20 for a larger Club room very worthwhile.

Blown away by the spectacular view as well as the friendly and efficient staff! I reserved 3 rooms for 3 days, for a girlfriend reunion. We stayed on the lower level so that we could all sit together on our outside patios, take in the view and sip our coffee/wine, depending on the time of day. We were most impressed by how clean and spacious the rooms were. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Nestled in the hills of Co . Springs and surrounded by an amazing landscape with fantastic views , I'd rate this as one of my choice stays. There is so much you can do with a tons of outside activities from hiking to golf with scenery galore . The staff were very professional and the dining was first class. Good selection on menus and very affordable. If you are thinking of coming here just do it... You won't be disappointed!

I purchased a Travelzoo voucher for the Lodge, which included welcome cocktails and appetizer, as well as breakfast for two. The lodge, view, and grounds are spectacular! We enjoyed a HUGE appetizer and drinks in the lounge, and later ordered room service. The food was great, but it paled in comparison to the stellar views from our room. The room itself was enormous and tasteful, with a gas fireplace, walk-in closet, and both a sitting and a dining area. The beds are so comfortable, and piled with pillows in beautiful linens. Breakfast was hearty and delicious, and the service was uniformly wonderful. We hope to return soon!
