This trip was all about hiking, site seeing, and photographing the area. We aren't golfers or tennis players and didn't really have an interest in using the spa or other facilities at the Lodge. Didn't eat there, didn't use the pool, only the room. All the common areas and facilities looked first class and well maintained though. Other reviewers criticized the decor, and it is dated. Seems to be a mixture of 80's and 90's. There was a chair and ottoman in 228 that was pretty worn and not too attractive. But that wasn't a big deal for us since the true value of the location was the view of Garden of the Gods and the large covered balcony and large room. The bathroom area was also very large and useful. There is this big counter that runs along under the windows that is perfect for dropping all your stuff and setting up your laptop. The room had all the usual features you'll find at the chains so don't worry about that. The room was very clean and everything functioned properly. Just don't expect current interior decorating. If you want space, and enjoy sitting on the balcony watching the sun go down over the mountains with a glass of wine, then you'll be happy here.

Room Tip: Get a 2nd floor room with the very large covered balcony.

We stayed here on the advice of a friend as the Broadmoor was booked for some of the nights we were in Colorado Springs. We stayed in a north room and found the room to be very nice. Large and recently remodeled. The room actually is nicer than the pictures show it to be, and the view is lovely. Housekeeping did a terrific job, and the location, near the Garden of the Gods and not too far from Manitou Springs, is very good for touring around CS. The pool area is small but the main downside is the food. It was hit and miss with somewhat indifferent service, perhaps because a 20% gratuity is automatically included. There are no other restaurants in walking distance as the hotel is in a residential area, so we had to get in the car to eat each meal (we tired of the so-so food at the hotel after the first few meals), But as the rooms are motel style, the car wasn't too far away so this was not that big of a deal to us. The only real issue we had was a wedding going on Saturday night with loud music blaring until midnight. It would have been nice if management had let us know about this in advance and we might have chosen to plan an evening out rather than an early evening in as there was no way to sleep until the music stopped.

We spent some time at the Broadmoor and loved the grounds and all the food choices there. If you are debating between this lodge and the Broadmoor, I'd go with the Broadmoor unless you have an aversion to large resorts or the price difference is extreme.

Room Tip: Definitely get a north room. Keep checking with the hotel and other websites for discounts.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your experience at our Lodge. We're sorry about the dining service issues you experienced. We recently welcomed a new food & beverage director, who is taking a hands-on approach to staff development and is committed to delivering consistently superior service in all of our dining outlets. As our hotel grounds are small and intimate, we've also recommended to our front desk team to alert guests whose stays may be affected by private events happening onsite. Thanks again for your feedback, and we hope you have an opportunity to visit Colorado Springs again soon.

So excited to stay here, as we normally stay at Broadmoor. Checked into the very dated Patio South room. Disappointed. It even smelled old. Came back later that evening to spiders! Spiders in closet, in bathtub, running down side of wall and even in the telephone near bed! Called front desk and agent moved us to Jr. Suite. Gorgeous! More like it for the price! Advice... don't settle for stinky old room!

Room Tip: Don't settle for Patio Room. Main lodge rooms are updated with fireplace and comfy beds.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your experience at our resort. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay in the Junior Suite. To clarify, while our South Patio guest rooms are spacious and feature the same gorgeous views as our North & South Club guest rooms, they are priced significantly lower based upon their decor. Photos of the different guest room types are available on our website, for comparison. While we are not aware of any odor or pest control issues in the South Patio guest rooms, we have passed your feedback along to our housekeeping and engineering teams for review. Thank you again for writing a review, and we wish you the best in your future travels.

I relocated to Colroado Springs and had the pleasure of staying in the lodge and south patio rooms. The lodge rooms are beautiful and the views are spectacular. The south patio rooms are large and have amazing rooms as well, but do need upgrades. I ordered room service one night and my food was overcooked and my dessert was inedible - so hard, I could barely get my fork through it. The spa/salon was fantastic - great service, prices and the staff is phenominal! I will be going back again for sure! The staff was friendly and helpful! I would recommend this hotel to friends and family!

I have to say that the view from the Lodge at the Garden of the Gods is breathtaking as well as the actual grounds located behind the Lodge. . . and we live on the beach in Florida!!! Just after check in, there was a deer outside of our room wandering the grounds. Later we had a wonderful lunch on the terrace. I had a stone massage. Best ever! Our bed was also VERY comfortable. Alot of our opinion always comes from the comfort of the bed and linens.
We were in town for a wedding where the reception was held on site. Everything was beautiful. Thank you for a great weekend. I will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Every room has a view, but upstairs is certainly better.

The reservation staff was very easy to deal with, and adaptable to changing situations (fires in the area). The stay was restful, but with lots of opportunities for sports (tennis, swimming, hiking, golf, etc). The rooms are spacious, well appointed, clean, and very comfortable. The food at the lodge restaurant was excellent, as was the service. Room service was perfect, with excellent quality food delivered on time. The staff was accommodating for special needs, and kept excellent and friendly attitudes at all times. It is a beautiful place, with spectacular views, and a most enjoyable travel experience.

Room Tip: All rooms have the beautiful view of the red rocks of Garden of the Gods park. The second floor roo...

Checked in to a not very friendly front desk personnel. Got our room key that didnt work. Tried 5 new ones before the front desk personnel finally came to try it themselves to find it didnt work. Had to have maintenance come to work on the lock. Ordered in room breakfast at 7 am and was told it would be 25-30 min and after 1 hour called to find out where our food was. Was told they were very busy and it would be out soon. Unfortunately we had a tour we needed to catch so no breakfast. Left the room at 8:15 came back at 2:30 to find that our room had not been cleaned. Was told by the front desk that they dont clean the rooms only on check out. Never heard of this. So if you want clean towels or your garbage taken out you are out of luck. The only positive thing I can say is the view is spectacular and the room is huge.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review of your experience at our resort. We are pleased that you enjoyed the views from your guest room as well as its spacious size. I do want to clarify that our housekeeping team does clean the guest rooms daily during each guest's stay. In addition, like at our resorts, the guest room key cards can occasionally become demagnetized by other items in a guest's pocket, wallet, or bag. Other issues with the locks are rare, and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused by the repair needed to your room's lock. Further, we sincerely apologize for your experience with room service, and I have shared your feedback with our food & beverage director for follow up and training. Once again, thanks for your valuable feedback, and we wish you the best in your future travels.
