The junior suite was a spacious, very comfortable room. Great views and great breakfasts. Highly recommended.

First of all - the location can't be beat! The view from our room was breathtaking and the room was wonderful. It had fantastic linens, fireplace, huge bathroom, and all the amenities to make it a wonderful place to stay. It's too bad the front desk didn't have a clue what was going on. We had pre-booked breakfast and cookies and milk for a nighttime snack. When we checked in the clerk on duty didn't show we had any of that. After a call to back to him, he said - "oh the guy who was supposed to post this, didn't know what he was doing" Ok, one mess up is not going to be any big deal. We arranged for our cookies and mile to arrive at 9:30 when we came in from dinner, and when we came home at 9pm they were sitting outside out door (which is outside) with the milk uncovered and the cookies too. OK. Strike two. Sunday morning was Mother's Day and we called the front desk to get the breakfast coupons and they said just stop by. We walked into the dining room to find out from a really crabby cook setting up a buffet who announced, breakfast was over early because of Mother's Day. Strike three. Thank goodness Ruth who is the manager came over and told us we could be accommodated in the bar and she was terrific and could not have been nicer. We went back to the front desk staff who had no idea that breakfast had stopped at 9:30am. Ben (the golf pro who had been called in to work at the desk) was wonderful and apologized and invited us back for another stay. He said the person who usually worked the desk and had quit and everyone there was new. So here's my question…….WHERE WAS THE GENERAL MANAGER of the hotel and why hadn't he trained the new front desk group. Why was he or she not working since the staff was new. Why didn't he or she provide any sort of training to the new staff. I feel for new people who end up in job and the hotel manager can't bring themselves to do any training It puts them in such a terrible position. Will we go back, yes. Hopefully all the issues with the right hand not know what the left hand is doing will be fixed!

We appreciate your kind remarks about our location, views, and guest rooms. I'm so sorry for the service issues that you experienced during your stay, which sound very frustrating and certainly aren't consistent with the standard of excellence that we have set for our staff. I have shared your feedback with our management team, and we will address. We are also pleased to share with you that we'll be welcoming a new general manager to the resort next month (June 2012). Thank you for your willingness to give us another chance. We hope to provide you with an exceptionally wonderful experience the next time you visit us. In the meantime, we wish you the happiest of travels, wherever they may take you.

My wife and I spent one evening, a Friday at the Lodge after playing golf at the adjacent golf course. The hotel is very nice, albeit the carpet and some of the furnishing is dated. The carpet in some commons areas definitely needs replacing. The rooms are very spacious, again could stand a little update but the older bath tub and bath was offset by the nice size of the room and the views. The views are incredible. The food for lunch and dinner (buffet) was excellent. Service was hit and miss however. There were some large parties there and a wedding planned for the day we left and we felt that the staff was limited in terms of service at times. I would go back particularly if I knew I wasn't going to be competing with a large private group.

Room Tip: Be sure to get a view room, perhaps all of them have views but you don't want to pass up the vie...

Hi Joe. It sounds like you played in our Colorado AvidGolfer Private Club Day. Thanks for registering and for braving the cooler temps that came into Colorado Springs that afternoon. Our club was proud to celebrate its 60th anniversary last summer, and we are in the process of enhancing the property's decor. Over the course of the last year or so, for example, we upgraded the guest room televisions, clock radios, mattresses, and bedding. Earlier this month, we also installed new carpet in the corridors between the South Club guest rooms, spa, and Hill Room. In reference to the large parties and wedding, we do host private events here at Garden of the Gods Club, but they typically do not interfere with the Member and guest experience. We apologize that you felt as though they did during your visit, and I will share your feedback with the team so that we can address together. Thanks for taking the time to write a review, and we hope that you will consider visiting us again. Best wishes in your future travels.

Overall, I'd recommend this lodge. The view was absolutely amazing. The biggest downfall was the outdated room decor. For being such an "upscale" club, the rooms were pretty mediocre. The carpets were a little chewed up in places and there was a light bulb or two out. The views were amazing and a very short drive from the Garden of the God's park, which was convenient. The breakfast was delicious. The staff in the dining area were very pleasant. The front desk staff didn't go out of their way to welcome us. I'd go back simply for the view and the location.

Room Tip: Make sure you're getting a good view. Not all rooms have the panoramic view of the park.

Kelly, thanks for sharing your comments and photos from your stay. While our guest rooms are spacious and feature exceptional views, we are in the process of enhancing their decor, so we expect that they'll continue to become even more comfortable over the next few years. Over the course of the last year or so, for example, we upgraded the televisions, mattresses, bedding, and clock radios. We're glad that you enjoyed our views, central location, and food, and it's wonderful to hear that you plan to return to our Lodge. I'll share your comments about the front desk staff with management so that we can work as a team to improve. Again, thank you for taking the time to write a review of your experience. We wish you the best, wherever your future travels may take you.

The views from this hotel can't be beat, looking directly onto the Garden of the Gods.

The room itself was also amazing. And big. Huge, really. In addition to the comfy bed, there was a loveseat, end table, coffee table, desk and chair, and small round table in front of the gas fireplace, over which hung a good-size tv. And plenty of extra space in addition. The wall of sliding glass door had full-length shutters on tracks, and the balcony had a table and two chairs.

The bath had a separate room was toilet and shower, then two separate sinks and vanities, a makeup area with mirror and stool, a walk-in closet, and a wall of cabinetry for clothing that also held the coffee supplies, safe and mini-fridge. Did I mention that the room was big? I overheard one of the sales agents later telling someone that the smallest room was over 500 square feet. One neat thing about the bathroom: it was wired with speakers for the tv, so I could hear the news while I was getting ready.

I had "liked" it on Facebook while planning, and got a great FB special that included breakfasts each morning. The server was very pleasant, and the breakfast was huge and good.

The only thing I would say was negative was the front-desk person wasn't particularly helpful or personable. We saw one gentleman who was training several times, and he was pleasant, but the more experienced person wasn't.

Room Tip: I believe all rooms have the same terrific view. If you're on the second floor and don't do...

Thanks for your review! It's wonderful to hear that you were able to take advantage of our fans-only special on Facebook. There's nothing quite like eating breakfast while enjoying our mountain views. We're glad that you also enjoyed our spacious accommodations. We are currently experiencing a transitional period at our front desk and appreciate your candid feedback, which we will incorporate into our training program. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience with other travelers. We hope to see you again soon!

I have stayed at the Lodge at the Garden of the Gods Club many times and I am always blown away by the views. Every room in the place has a spectacular view of the Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak. When you wake up and see the early light coloring the red rocks and the snow on the peak you realize you are someplace special!

The rooms themselves are very large and comfortable. The bed was a king and it was comfortable and you could see the view from the bed. The suite includes a large bathroom and dressing room plus a gas fireplace.

I like this place better than the Broadmoor.

Room Tip: All the rooms face west and have great views so it doesn't really matter which room you get.

We had a suite on the second floor, our friends had a non suite on the first floor, both rooms were superb! Panoramic views of Garden of the Gods & Pikes Peak. The room was magnificent. Great bathroom, dressing room, bed, balcony, view. Every room was great! Service was A+, breakfast was A+, the beauty was awesome. We cannot wait to return. This was our first visit to Colorado - I'd highly recommend this location.

Room Tip: All rooms seem great, beautiful view. We loved our suite, but non suite rooms are great, also!
