I had looked at some picture online and thought Garden of the Gods would be OK, but not that special. As we drove up we couldn't really see much other than houses. Then we turned a corner and began seeing the amazing formations and I couldn't wait to get out of the car and walk around.
Lots of people there on the Thursday several days before July 4th, but parking was ample. We were there in the morning and walked a long way to check out a lot of things. Getting a park map helps because it's easy to get turned around and see where you want to go, but be on the wrong trail and they don't want you to walk off trail.
It was cool to see the formations and read about them on the information plaques. Even more surprising was seeing the rock climbers in several locations climbing up sheer faces. Very cool!
Great pictures and my favorite sightseeing visit of our trip to Denver and Colorado Springs. Good for kids too.More
