We live in Denver and make the short trip down to Garden of the Gods at least once a month. It is an easy drive when you just want to get away for the day. My kids love coming here and always ask when we are coming again! The museum is interactive and fun- it takes about 1/2 an hour to go through and is a nice start. They have a nice movie that gives you history of the park as well. You can drive through, take bikes or hike. Picnic areas and easy parking for most sites. Stunning views and very unique. You can take as long as you like and it is FREE!! There is a kitschy gift store/trading post but the kids love this too. If you need a souvenir they have it!! Get coffee, ice cream, or fudge... there is always fudge! The one and only souvenir item we did not find was Mexican jumping beans- we asked the sales lady and even she couldn't beleive that they did not have them! The staff is really nice and helpful which is different from alot of places in this area. A terrific day trip for the family- bring a picnic and a camera surprisingly fun!

The rock formations were beautiful and it was very pleasant to walk around there. It it open until 11 pm so it was convenient to visit in the late afternoon/evening when other attractions are closing. We found the maps a bit confusing.

Being from the mostly flat ground of IL. , my family enjoyed seeing all the rock formations. There was rock climbers while we was there and they were neat to watch. I can't believe that somebody out there hasn't decided they need to charge money to get in and see this. With a family of five, this free of charge attraction was a hit with our family. If you enjoy nature, you'll like this place.

This is definitely a must see if you are anywhere around Colorado Springs. We went in the afternoon and had a great time. We had a treat of seeing a few rock climbers tackling one of the rock formations, so it was fun to watch them do their thing.

While we did a walking tour on the paved trail during the afternoon that was cut a little short because of rain, we found ourselves near Garden of the Gods in the evening closer to sunset on another day so we stopped by again and did a drive through. In the evening we had the chance to see several deer and one large mule deer buck with his horns in velvet. We had a great time watching the buck for a bit. So, you may want to plan a walking tour for one day and driving tour for an evening to see if you can catch some of the wildlife in the area.

I don't know if words can accurately describe the picturesque setting of Garden of the Gods. With the mountains as a back drop for these incredible rock formations, you are welcomed with many photo ops to capture this truly majestic place. If you have a chance, take in the movie at the visitor center (it's not free though) that describes how the formations were made.

i have been to Garden of the Gods twice. The rock formations are very cool and it is a nice relaxing activity that doesn't take up too much time if you are on a schedule, but you can take as long as you would like. My husband and I like to check out the rocks and then drive up this road up and down the side of one of the mountains. I am not sure which one.

The park is free and is completely worth any amount of time you are willing to take.
