Quick stop from security and on to visitor center and combined gift shop for a short informative movie and background history exhibits. They also have what a room looks like. We took short walk on a path to witness the line up for lunch, quit impressive. Band starts out and they all file out for lunch, which is only 20 minutes long and the freshmen are not allowed to talk.

We went to the spectacular church and chapels below.

Pulled over to the track and watched the cadets running in groups.

“A Site To See”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

You can't head out to Colorado Springs and not make a stop at the Cadet Chapel on the grounds of the United States Air Force Academy. Whether you just take a reverent stop inside or time it right to attend services there, you won't be disappointed. It is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Hit it on a sunny day and the prisms inside the upper chapel are spectacular. Stop and take a stroll through the Visitor's Center as well. Learn about the great history of the Academy and how it trains cadets to become Officers in the Air Force. If you're lucky, you could time your visit to watch the cadets march to lunch. You won't see that at many Colleges or University's around the world.

the air force academy is a beautiful place to visit . The chapel is amazing and the grounds are lovely. Be sure to check the schedule for tours because it is not always available and closes early.

The history there is awesome. Great movie about the academy (a must see) The grounds are gorgeous and parking is extremely ample. Huge selection of gifts-souvenirs. Have been there a dozen times. Each visit is with out of state family & friends. The chapel is spectacular. Make sure you bring a camera and walking shoes.

By accident we happen to be right by the central square (adjacent to the chapel) when all the cadets met for the march to lunch. This included the band, flags, commanders etc. Be sure to try and be there, not only impressive with our young dedicated men and women; but certainly a great reminder of our "real" heritage. Well worth a stop for all.
