The Chapel at the AF Academy is beautiful. Stop at the visitors center too. You get to learn about the academy and its history. There is a gift shop too.

“The Chapel was Great”
Reviewed August 3, 2012

After going through my photos and most of them being of the inside and outside of the Chapel, I realized that was the place that I enjoyed the most during this visit. The campus itself was okay. It's spread out and was easy to get around. The gift shop was huge. If you are military (active or retired) they will give you a 10% discount. There was a very good selection of all sorts of AFA memorabilia to include clothing, water bottles, books, etc. To tour the campus, museum, and the Chapel is FREE!

There is a movie to watch as an introduction to the AFA but unfortunately we did not watch it. The hike from the parking lot to the chapel was a bit steep but gorgeous. We even saw a deer. If you time it right, you are able to watch the cadets parading and drilling. Watching the cadets and touring the beautiful Chapel will make this an enjoyable stop.

The AFA setting is beautiful and you can see it from the highway. I would recommend a total of one to two hours here. Talk to the people in the visitor center about tour guides and when to see the cadets. Wear good walking shoes and be prepared for the weather. There isn't any shade while walking between the gift shop and Chapel.

“The Chapel Is Gorgeous”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

We went to the Air Force Academy to see the chapel and we were not disappointed. It is beautiful. We took pictures from all angles. Inside, the stained glass windows give the room a blue look. We purchased a book, that is sold on the honor system, that talks about the architecture which is set up to look like jets. The visitor center for the Academy is very nice, with a movie, lots of museum type things to look out, gift store, and a subway sandwich shop. The chapel is worth the trip.

“Lots of walking”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

Fun to see once. Lots of walking and interesting visitor's center if you like military memorabilia! Take the chapel tour and make sure you see the whole chapel - not just the main church.
