Beautiful grounds, beautiful chapel, 1950's architecture, and everything everybody else said. Skip the cheesy little film. Keep in mind, this isn't a film school. The film was so awkward, I felt bad for it. After reading the other reviews, I will plan a return visit to see the formations and catch a football game in the fall. Hiking in the fall would provide more comfortable weather, although I did not mind the summer weather, we didn't hike because of the air quality due to the fires. Although a beautiful campus, I didn't learn anything new about the academy itself because a lot of information is on their website. This may have been different if I had went on a guided tour, but I didn't.

The chapel is a true part of America, from it's completely unique design and construction, to its setting in a beautiful mountainous area. If you come to Colorado Springs, you shouldn't miss it.

The chapel is gorgeous! The trails were nice too. It was very hot the week we were there and they had just reopened after closing for waldo Canyon fire so we didn't spend as much time as we would have liked here.

The Academy is a fascinating place to visit, and it's free! Just the chapel alone is worth the visit. The area and grounds are beautiful. If you're lucky, you might see cadets parading, or even the band on parade.

It is a very pretty setting. The visitor center is nice showing historical pictures and an example of a typical dorm room for cadets. The chapel is iconic and is a wonderful space inside. We were there the week before the new class was to arrive so it was quiet. A few days after we were there they had to evacuate civilians because the Waldo Canyon fire was getting close (but did not reach the property).
