My brother graduated from the academy some 35 years ago. That was the last time i had been there. It was fun to show the kids where their uncle had gone to school. The grounds are beautiful people there are very helpful and kind.
A really amazing place.

Visiting the Academy can't help but instill a sense of pride in our country and the dedication of those that serve. The winding drive to the top builds expectation as to what will be seen. The setting is breathtaking and provides inspiration. The staff at the visitor center are extremely helpful in answering any questions. Memorabila can be purchased here. The architecturally spectacular chapel provokes a sense of wonder and awe from the outside. Inside the building the sanctuaries are modern in design while affording solace and reflection. The Tuskegee airman statue honors the past contribution of this group which needs more acknowledgment.

What a fabulous campus and military installation. The setting in the Rockies is magnificent. The chapel is, of course, at the heart of it and is amazing that it includes the ability for all faiths to worship. Even though you can't go beyond the chapel and visitors' center, unless you have a cadet at the Academy (which I do) it's amazing to see the military formations and performances on the terrazzo, gliders, and jumpers all in training. If you get a chance make sure to get tickets to the Army or Navy football games there (depending on the year). You won't be disappointed with the pre-game show, including a flyover.

Our family arrived in Denver on a Sat, and immediately headed to the Air Force Academy. They had a tour available as we were arriving so we walked around the campus, and the guide explained all the interesting facts about the Academy. The Chapel is a beautiful structure and the interior architecture is amazing. Once the tour was over, we stopped to take family pictures on the campus with the beautiful green trees and mountains in the background. The kids wanted to stop at Falcon Stadium for pictures too. We highly recommend taking a few hours and see the Academy.

We came to the Air Force Academy for a wedding. We had to put our names on a guest list, but when we came to the north gate all they asked for was to see my drivers license and then to take a look in the trunk. The wedding ceremony was held in Doolittle Hall. It was easy to f ind as there are lots of signs. This is an enormous facility...around 18,000 acres. We went to the visitors center and asked for a map. There is a nice gift shop there and plenty of Air Force souvenirs. Go Falcons! Thankfully the wedding early enough that we were able to tour the beautiful Cadets Chapel. What an inspiring facility! The architecture is outstanding with 17 spires. You have to visit the chapel when visiting the Air Force Academy. There is a preserved B52 waiting to greet you once you clear security at the gate. The campus was impeccable and made me very proud to see so many of the Cadets in their uniforms.
