Ate dinner here last night. First visit to this location. Basic, good, but not fabulous Thai food. Casual atmosphere; blue jeans are just fine. Free parking in strip mall. It was quite loud at dinner time. Tables are very close together and hard to talk w/ your companions. Also hard to not hear everything the next table is talking about. Probably a better lunch choice, but beer and wine were well-priced last night, so that was a plus.

This is a restaurant that does not try very hard to create an "image" but does concentrate on quality food and adequate, polite service. Despite the many Thai restaurants in town, I find it to be the most reliably consistent in its selections. I always notice a very clean and vibrant vibe in the food, as if the chef really enjoys what he or she is doing and presenting to the customers. There are no weird undertones of tastes or textures. Hot food is served hot. Spiciness is adjusted to your preference. Portion sizes are reasonable. Avoid the happy hour house wines. I think this is part of a Denver-owned chain, but seems like a casual local little restaurant.

Some of the best Americanized Thai food we ever had was at Thai Basil, but not this specific restaurant. While the menu and dishes are the same as other Thai Basils, this restaurant has never achieved the blend of delicious flavors we've enjoyed elsewhere, but it is still a great option in a town with a dearth of good Thai food. Inconsistency in heat is a big issue and I never know how spicy my dish will be. It's a nice option for a fast lunch due to quick service, fast plating and rare waits to be seated. The food is attractively presented, enough to fill you up, and tasty enough that you probably won't be disappointed, though you may not be amazed.

Someone insisted it was, we've been twice and it is so not! Bhan Thai is better (2 of them in town) and so is Arharn is even better. We could not find one dish where Thai Basil was better than either of the others mentioned. We gave it two tries, it won't be getting a third try from us.

The staff was all super friendly, the food was a step above your average Asian. Nice pan-Asian flair, great spices.
