Steamboat Lake is a great place to camp with clean facilities. The beach is nice and great for kids. We stayed over July 4th and crowds were very manageable. Water, Ice, and wood are available within the camp. We will stay here again.

We went here for fireworks one night and to hang out at the lake the next day. The beach area is small but lovely. There is a place to get some refreshments.

This park has the most breathtaking views all around. Access around the whole lake to enjoy however you want. Boat rentals available. Hiking trails. Camping and cabins for overnight stays.

We rented fishing poles, bought fishing licenses and a park pass, and spent the entire day fishing for trout and enjoying the views. We couldn't have asked for a better day than we had at Steamboat Lake State Park.

We made reservations ahead of time and enjoyed a great camp spot in Sunrise Vista Campground. From what I could tell, all of the campsites were nice with nice views in mind. There was room for our (34 foot) RV and a tent on our site. The sites have electric hook up. The dump station and water fill station aren't too far away and are pretty convenient as well. The camp hosts, Jeanine and her husband in Lupine Loop were very friendly and accommodating. My husband was supposed to work while we were up there and needed wifi, but there wasn't a signal and his hotspot wouldn't connect either. The closest store other than the marina is about 4 mile walk across great paths. The marina didn't have much in the way of merchandise so plan ahead. It may just be because it's the start of camping season and it hasn't been stocked yet. All in all it was a great vacation.

Even with the large pine trees removed - this place is very nice.
Reservations are required to camp, but it's worth the hassle.
