“"Home Away From Home"”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

From the minute we arrived at Cedaredge Lodge, Donna and Gary welcomed us to their home. We knew right away that we were not in a typical hotel--this place was special. Donna greeted us and showed us around the property and all they had to offer. Gary, aka--the man that "never stops", has done all the woodworking himself and it is beautiful. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Even though the lodge is right on the main road thru town, it was very quiet. We enjoyed a homecooked meal both nights we stayed, and do recommend Gary's smoked ribs and Donna's salad--nice and fresh with ingredients from her garden--If you want to eat dinner, give them a day or so notice as everything is prepared fresh. They also have a full outdoor kitchen available if you want to do your own cooking--complete with fridge, stovetop, oven, grill, dishes etc...We also enjoyed eating outside by the creek, a lovely firepit at night, and a very relaxing hammock creekside--great for an afternoon nap; we highly recommend this little hotel on your travels--conveniently located to Grand Mesa area. The owners make you feel like you are at home and they do all that they can to make sure you enjoy your stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in room #3; queen bed, small kitchenette with sink, refrigerator, and coffee maker and bat...

Gary and Donna and absolutely incredible! I booked a surprise weekend getaway for me and my boyfriend and our time at the lodge was amazing!! I worked at a 5 star resort for many years as a Concierge and their attention to detail at Cedaredge far exceeded my expectations on many levels. I loved the "rustic/cabin in the mountains" décor in the rooms. Gary has done an exquisite job remodeling each and every room with special detail given to the woodwork. I loved waking up every morning and hearing the sound of the relaxing creek from the comfort of our room. Delightful. Donna provided excellent massages and the hot tub and game room were welcomed treats at the end of the day. Thank you Gary and Donna for a weekend come true. See you in September!

I stayed twice at this lovely little motel on business trips to the area, and can't wait to return. Whimsical decorations and artful design make this a delightful stop, with all the comforts you want and some you wouldn't anticipate, like being able to order good food cooked right there, and the opportunity to book a great massage from Donna, the owner-massage therapist. I loved the swing and hammock by the brook, and the fact that our friendly and thoughtul hosts served us wine in the hot tub. On top of all that, they provide great beds in quiet comfortable rooms. What more could anyone want!

Gary and Donna are superb hosts. I stayed two nights in March, when there was snow on the ground. Great "mountain lodge" decor in the room -- crafted by Gary! -- and super comfortable bed. Despite being right next to the road, it was all very quiet and peaceful. Everything was clean, tidy, worked properly. Donna provided an excellent sports massage, and the custom-cooked dinner--with a fabulous selection of wine--was just superb! I didn't use the hot tub but saw several others enjoying it. Thanks to both Donna and Gary for making my stay very special.

Room Tip: All seven rooms are great, with a well-stocked kitchenette. Not geared for families with lots of ki...

The trip was amazing and the lodge made it that much better. Being so close to everything you want to do, we were able to see and do everything. The amazing part was we cancelled our last 2 days of traveling and sight seeing to stay at the lodge and enjoy the company and amenities. The owners are amazing as well, they took us on a snowmobile tour at the top of the Mesa. All we can say is "OH WOW"! (inside joke with Gary)
The place has it all, resturant, self service BBQ grilling (they have 20+ grills on site) hot tub, game room, they have it all. If you love the outdoors with all the comforts of a resort this is the place to be. The rooms are amazing as well, very artistic/western style deco. We will be ruturning here often!

Gary and Donna operate the lodge and are wonderful people. They truly do everything possible to make your stay memorable and comfortable. The setting couldn't be better, with beautifully designed rooms and a relaxing creek just a few feet behind your room. The babbling, rolling water can best be appreciated by opening your widow and enjoying the restful sleep it provides. Add to that the amenities, which include a game room, horse shoes, lounging areas creek side and the owners garden area. The garden, during growing season, adds fresh vegetables to their menu. This is a must for anyone visiting the Grand Mesa area. Stop by, I know you'll love it!

Room Tip: We loved room 4. Gary has done and exemplary job with the woodwork. This has to be the most comforta...

What a wonderful surprise and delight to discover this perfect Colorado getaway for the weekend. So very glad we stayed 2 nights which gave us more time to enjoy our stay. We appreciated all the aspen wood, artwork & cleanliness of our room. Had the most delicious fish & veggies from their own garden prepared by our very warm, friendly & humorous hosts Gary and Donna. The way our table was set so beautifully complete with candles and cozy fireplace made us feel so special. We had lots of fun shooting pool and playing air hockey afterwards. Would highly recommend a stay here. Even during the winter time we found lots to do around this small town exploring the antique stores, homemade chocolate store and art galleys and, of course, the Sandhill Cranes. Would love to come back during the summertime to spend more time along the creek. Thank you Gary & Donna for everything. Loved every minute of our stay. Carol & Sharon
