“a town is 'a human settlement larger than a village but smaller than a city”
Reviewed August 1, 2014

According to Wiki a town is 'a human settlement larger than a village but smaller than a city', it is however also the best restaurant I have personally ever eaten at.......ever!!.....and I have lived in France.
I certainly do not class myself as either a travel writer or any sort of connoisseur, especially given that this is the only review that I have ever written on any business ever; it is not that I have never experienced enjoyable restaurants or good food elsewhere (far from it) it is more that .......(a) with a young toddler opening my lap top to even read one email would cause a knock-on-effect barrage of "why would you neglect me like this" behaviour from my son, (b) because I have never before now warranted my opinion as being important enough to share with strangers on-line, but oh......this IS important ......It is VERY important that you experience the culinary creations bought to existence by the team of food artists residing in the open view kitchen, leading this humble yet freakishly talented crew, I believe, are equally modest food genii Bryce Orblom and Chris Randall. All huddled within the parental embrace of business owner and (from what I hear) one of Carbondales' local heroes, Mark Fischer.
So. Other than the great food, what else would lead a busy mum, to neglect her child or even worse......forfeit precious 'baby is asleep I can actually wash my hair' time, to write a review on this restaurant? The answer to this question is simple, it has everything you can ask for in a restaurant, the staff are super lovely and amazingly attentive (honestly, they don't miss a trick) and it is obvious to see that the system just works, all cogs running smoothly, no kinks in the links (that one is my own saying but you can use it if you like).
To sum up the confidence that this business have in the quality of their restaurant.....'They have their mission statement plastered in huge bold writing above their open kitchen'.

Stopped by here for lunch twice on our recent holiday to this area and would recommend!Food was reasonably priced, very tasty and obviously freshly prepared - which makes such a difference.

“A diamond in Carbondale”
Reviewed July 25, 2014 via mobile

First and foremost the staff were fantastic, particularly the maître de/wine captain Rachel and our waiter John. Patient, knowledgable, and engaging. The location in the pedestrian friendly section of old Main Street, coupled with the rustic charm and ambiance of the place made for a wonderful experience. The menu is diverse and everything we had was excellent. Don't miss the unique desserts. The donut holes were a nice surprise. Make reservation as this is a popular place. Come early and walk around the local shops.

“Great find in a little town”
Reviewed July 25, 2014

Excellent food, lovely setting (the patio especially) If you sit inside go early as it gets very busy and noisy later. Friendly service. Drove from Aspen to this new restaurant, because i needed to breath O2 at a lower altitude. Had a great dinner and pumped up the Oxygen level - Left feeling great

“Slightly higher price, but amazing food”

Party of 3. Dishes were well plated and delicious. We had the salmon, the crispy chicken and the pork shoulder on grits.
