Coffee and bakery stand by the door is a bit smelly. The patio looks like a concrete prison yard.Kitchen is completely exposed, sending bleach fumes to the dining room and bar area. Two potheads and a hardworking, but clueless, Mexican send out very inconsistent food. The woman manager is polite and professional, but she cannot fix everything on her own.I would like to eat there few times a week, but until they start to serve better food,i have to drive to Aspen.Their"Pullman"restaurant in Glenwood Springs has fantastic Cesar salad with truffle-pancetta dressing and very tasty cuts of chicken.I would like to eat it in Carbondale. The head chef is unable to control quality in both restaurants. What a pity. Please, call someone like Robert Irvine from " Restaurant Impossible " to get this place in a better shape.I keep my fingers crossed and wish you well. The best thing so far is that they are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Family seated next to us was two toddlers in high chairs. They arrived after us and we finally asked to be moved. Management said the seating arrangements weren't their fault; the family wanted a window table. The food is exceptionally mediocre. We live in Carbondale and have eaten at all of the other of this group;s restaurants. This has the most banal food with the hostess and manager completely clueless regarding customer service. Save you money; go to one of the other restaurants. You might be able to hear your dinner partner and not have such exceptionally bad customer service. Our waitress was embarrassed; she did a good job. Too bad the manager hadn't been in her class

I've enjoyed two Sunday prix fixe suppers on the patio at Town this summer. The menu is posted on Facebook each week. It's a little eclectic, in that the flavors of the first course don't necessarily mesh with the flavors of the main course (even given the choice of first and seconds). However, the ingredients are excellent with an abundance of fresh produce and high quality meats, poultry, seafood. The presentation is lovely. Portion sizes are appropriate.
We loved Six89 and Pullman and are thrilled to get to know Town. Just wish their patio had the great view of Sopris.

The only negative is pretty inconsistent service. I don't know if the restaurant is understaffed for Sundays or if the wiatstaff needs better training or supervision. Don't you hate it when they walk right by a few times without even acknowledging a party at a table (IMO they could stop and say--sorry--busy--will be with you soon)? And, our waitress last night had no idea how one dish was prepared (there were only five choices plus one dessert on the prix fixe menu).

I hope they get they're front of the house as together as the kitchen. We are routing for them!

Town is operated by the former owners of the very popular 689 Restaurant and the current operators of The Pullman in Glenwood Springs. This is real jewel in Carbondale, which has more than it's fair share of really good restaurants. Not just your same old "colorado menu". Interesting array of flavor combinations and not your ordinary menu and appetizer selections. Best to have reservations on the weekends!
