My family and I had a short break at this little resort and definitely enjoyed ourselves, what a lovely spot.
We had a special package which gave us a good nightly rate, a late check out and other extras. Our breakfast was included which we wouldn't bother with again as the products provided were not to our liking. In this day and age with so many wonderful fresh products available I wonder why the manager thought it was ok to provide, homebrand fruit juice drink (not even real juice, fruit juice drink?), homebrand long life milk (why when the supermarket is just minutes away) and portion control jams.
I understand if you are keeping your costs down but really for the price you were charging, which was fair, you could have provided a breakfast that didn't look cheap. (and it did look very cheap)
Decant real juice and milk into a jugs, they can be homebrand but the guest won't know and do a small jar of jam (you decide the portion size)
We also received a complimentary bottle of wine, Bowlers Run ($2.99 at the Dan Murphy's), the homebrand of the wine world, very very cheap in all ways. Maybe international guests won't know this brand but Australians will.
Our package also included 2 x half hour spa treatments, which, if I got this right was the use of the spa jets in the pool for half an hour. Not what I would have said was a spa treatment, obviously my definition is different to this resorts.
The option to take a package should appear to be value for money and our room definitely was good value but personally, the extras just looked cheap and didn't add anything to the overall product, it just pulled you down.
A couple of small house keeping issues, dirty cup in main bathroom, covered in toothpaste spit (nice), small milk jug in second bedroom fridge with dried up milk in it, outside table covered in ash as well as the ash tray being filthy (bit of a turn off for a non smoker)
And some minor maintenance issues, the fan in the dining area has one speed (not very fast) and needs a new switch. This wouldn't have been an issue if we had stayed in winter but we stayed in December and a fan that works properly is a must in summer. Ants everywhere, time for a pest man to visit and place some ant baits around, noted the insect spray provided by the management to counter this problem.
Would we stay again, yes if they would have us after posting this review, the manager is lovely, a very helpful person, the resort is well presented; clean, tidy and in a great spot. The few issues we had were minor and of no real consequence. We would probably take the package again just to get the good nightly rate but we would not bother using any of the extras
