“Jewel of a B&B”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

This is actually our second visit to this sweet little B&B. This alone should tell you something :)
We loved the house and the service and food was exceptional! If you love to visit B&Bs, you'll want to put this on your list of places to experience. The town was quaint and the people friendly. There's plenty of excitement with Royal Gorge and Whitewater Rafting available!

The Jewel of the Canyons first got my attention for their location and price. We were doing a New Years Eve dinner train on the Royal Gorge railroad, and they are just a few short blocks away. Had we not been all dressed up and had it not been so cold, we would have walked to the depot. As it was, we had a very easy checkin process with Lynn, who showed us the rooms and had some fresh baked brownies literally coming out of the oven for us when we arrived.
We had two friends with us, so we had two rooms in the BB, and my husband and I had chosen the room with the fireplace, which was VERY lovely. Our friends room was also very spacious and the bathrooms were very nice.
After our dinner train, we came back and watched the ball drop on the large TV in the common room.
In the morning, Lynn had a wonderful breakfast waiting for us, actually too much food! There is coffee and tea available any time of the day (keurig machine) and he left the brownies out for a late night snack as well.
Was a great place and we will definitely stay again when in the area!

Room Tip: The Red Rocks Canyon room is the only one on the bottom floor, and has a wonderfully cozy fireplace...

This is a very cool little B&B. The hosts were awesome and the accomodations are outstanding. The pictures and descriptions on their web site are accurate, but do not do it justice, you have to stay there to appreciate the decor and care that is obvious in every room. We were the only guests on the night we stayed as it was off season and we were treated to a tour of the entire house. Every room was comfortable and inviting. The home cooked breakfast was excellent. Your stay includes complimentary bathrobes, fruit, 24x7 coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, a sitting room with a flat screen TV, and of course, breakfast. At such a reasonable price, you would be crazy to stay anywhere else in Canon City.

Room Tip: They are all great and well represented on the reservation web site.

This B & B was very comfortable. The young lady serving as Inn Keeper was great. She made the stay a true pleasure. She was an excellent cook! She provided very good suggestions as to where to eat dinner. She made us feel right at home. Inn looked like the pictures on line, which is always a good thing.

Room Tip: I needed a first floor room and that was Red Rocks Canyon. Comfortable bed and nice, clean bathroom...

This is the best hotel or bed and breakfast that we have stayed in. Every possible thing that you might need had been thought of, such as a night light in the bathroom. As well as that, there were thoughtful touches everywhere - fresh flowers in the room, fresh fruit, candy, bathrobes. It was better than any five star we have stayed in. Lyn Burnett was a wonderful host making us feel most welcome and providing a delicious home cooked breakfast, beautifully presented. I cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough.

Room Tip: There are four rooms. We didnt see the others, but ours was superb and I cannot believe that they a...

Jewel of the Canyons is fantastic. The photos on the website don't do it justice. It is a charming bed and breakfast. The room was plushly furnished with a flat screen tv, pillow top mattress, and nicely appointed bathroom and shower. Breakfast the next morning was fresh peach crepes, hash brown casserole, and fruit and yogurt parfaits. I would definitely stay here again! One of the best bed and breakfasts we've ever stayed at!

Jewel of the Canyons B&B definitely lives up to its namesake. We had a wonderful stay that started with fresh caramels and ended with a lovely breakfast. The rest of the time was filled with great hospitality, lots of local information, great company and inviting decor. We did not have the pleasure of meeting the owners, Lyn and Wendy because of an out of town trip, but their lovely employees, Carol and Julie stepped up to the plate. I would recommend anyone spending some time in Canon City to check out this jewel.
