We used to love Sunday brunch here, but everything from the selection to the service has gone WAY downhill. The guy at the Omelet station was particularly bad -- couldn't handle making more than one omelet at a time. And definitely couldn't factor in the carving station. People had to wait a substantial amount of time to be served (or even noticed or acknowledged). Also when we arrived, we were only given the regular menu, but then noticed that the people next to use had both a regular menu and a special brunch menu. Had we seen one, we probably wouldn't have ordered the vastly overpriced brunch. There were no vegetarian offerings -- or even vegetables -- available, aside from a couple salads. The selection was rather sparse as far as brunch buffets go. Our server was adequate, but certainly not as described in the other reviews. It's a shame. This used to be one of our go-to places for special events.

Ate dinner at the Meritage while staying at the Omni. Every person we came in contact with did a fantastic job of helping us and providing us with their recommendations. We ate what our waiter recommended and it was very good. We would eat here again without thought. Prices were high, but worth every penny. Our stay at the Omni was good as usual.

My mom came from overseas to visit her friends and celebrate her 70th birthday. We chose the Meritage. Simply put, everything was perfect. The wait staff and the management were very polite, very thoughtful, and very patient, the food was delicious and affordable, and the atmosphere was peaceful and elegant. I couldn't recommend a better place.

My wife and I visited the Meritage on our anniversary this year, but it would be an understatement to say we ate dinner. It was much more than dinner. It was an experience. My wife and I both ordered the buffalo ribeye steak special, and it was delicious, as was all the food. The atmosphere was terrific - quiet, comfortable, clean, appropriately decorated and lit, etc. But the best part of the experience was the staff. They were absolutely AWESOME! We weren't just waited on - we were pampered. Every member of the staff went out of their way to make sure our food was acceptable, our drinks were filled, and our every need (and want) was met. This all happened before the staff learned we were there for our anniversary. After they learned it was our anniversary, they really went out of their way to make our evening extra special. We have never felt more valued as customers than we did at the Meritage. They really did make us feel special. We traveled 650 miles to spend the weekend at the Omni and dine at the Meritage. It was definitely worth the trip, and we are already planning on returning. It just doesn't get any better than the Meritage.

We live in the area and first tried this restaurant during Restaurant Week (don't miss it then, by the way...a fantastic deal!) last year and went back twice this year during restaurant week. Our visits have convinced us that for food and service, this is the best place in the North Metro area. I qualify that only because we haven't checked out many places downtown Denver yet. Of the ones we have been to, Meritage still blows them away.
We were nervous about eating in a restaurant hotel, but the only effect we noticed was that it is not crowded or loud and lots of personal service from the staff. The sommelier, Austin, is fantastic. I highly recommend following his recommendations on wines. On that note, they have half-price bottles on Wednesdays.
This is definitely the best kept secret in the area. Whether you live around here or are just visiting, check it out. We are now regulars!
