Went in the summer and resort was pretty quiet. However, floor and walls are not soundproof at all. Could hear neighbors talk and toilets all night. Also, rough bed and very small older fixture bathroom. "temp control" does not mean AC. Can't beat the view though and nice breakfast.

The Lodge & Spa at Breckenridge is a quiet rustic lodge set above the town of Breckenridge. We appreciate your comments to help us know what our guest look for in their lodging needs. We have slowly been updating the property and will defiantly consider your recommendations. The Lodge, along with most every other hotel in Breckenridge, does not have AC. We sit up on-top of the mountain side so our rooms get plenty of air with the windows open from the cooler mountain breeze. We are known for our views and do offer a complimentary continental breakfast daily with our rooms. The amenities do change during our off season to a limited breakfast.
Sincerely, Rhonda Profaizer
General Manager

The staff made our trip an unbelivable pleasure. The housekeeping staff were pleasant and professional in carrying out their duties. Our room was always clean and that had to be difficult considering the ski gear of mine and my son scattered about the room. It was evident that they operated under customer oriented management.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a window and/or balcony looking toward the ski slopes and town.

I stayed here in summer of 2006 and had lovely memories. Not so much this time. We were exhausted after two nights of no sleep. With no AC leaving the windows open is a must in summer. But with the chatter, loud music, and cigarette smoke wafting in from a wedding lasting until 11pm- it wasn’t possible to leave the windows open so we were much too warm to sleep well. Not to mention some drunk wedding guest getting loud around 2am. We figured Sunday night would be much better. No such luck. The room next to us seemed to be a large group of young people having a party. We called the front desk at 11:30pm and they did come by and knock on the door promptly. This did nothing to stop the noise however which went well after midnight, ceased briefly, and then a lot of crashing around and door slamming started up in the middle of the night. Not to mention the pot smoke that wafted in both at around 10pm then again before 8am in the morning. We used the hot tub the first night. The hot tubs look pretty old and worn out. The wood deck is substantially worse with what appears to be some rotting areas. There was also some other kind of social function taking place on Sunday night that had people milling around the hot tub area so we didn’t feel like using it in the middle of the party. Housekeeping didn’t come until well into the afternoon the second day. When we called to ask when they would be arriving we were told that they prepare the rooms expecting new guests first. There were empty beer bottles in the hallways and in the parking lot that were not cleaned up for a long time. Someone dumped a bunch of ice on one of the landings and also, inexplicably, dumped an emptied suitcase in the bushes by the stairs. We started to think we were in Cancun over spring break. And we’re too old for that. The views are outstanding, the employees very pleasant, the beds comfortable, and the summer rates are a huge bargain, which is probably what attracted the young party crowd. Still, we were exhausted after our little vacation. We may not return.

The Lodge & Spa at Breckenridge along with most every other hotel/lodge in Breckenridge does not have AC in rooms. The Lodge brings many varity of guests to our hotel and we do everything we can to meet every individual guests needs during their stay. We are sorry to hear that you were disturbed by the other guests from the wedding that was held that weekend. We are also in the process of updates around the hotel and replacing things as promptly as we can. Daily housekeeping services are done in the afternoon.
Sincerely, Rhonda / General Manager

The Lodge and Spa is perched above Breckenridge with great views of the mountain range. The suite we stayed in had great mountain views, the kitchen was lacking (no stove top, dorm type fridge), no closet, and bathroom small. The lodge is pet friendly and they have a nice area to walk the dogs.

Positives:
View
Pet Friendly
Comfortable bed
Gym/ Studio
C, Breakfast

Negatives:
Could hear doors closing.
Bathroom - small
Suite didn't have an acceptable kitchen.
No beer or wine sales in lodge (welcome to bring your own).

We knew the lodge is a 5 minute drive to Main Street and booked for their views. We would stay here again but we couldn't spend more than 3 nights here).

Room Tip: make sure your room/ suite has a mountain view.

Our Mountain View Suites are not equipped with a full kitchen. The Mountain View Suites have a mini-kitchenette which has a microwave, mini-fridge, and countertop with a sink; these are our only rooms that have these types of amenities. All suites are guaranteed a mountain view.
The Lodge is in the process of possibly reopening our lounge area beginning the winter season of 2011/2012.

We ALWAYS request a ground level room with a refrigerator and were assured that the room would meet our needs. It did; if our needs were a room up 2 flights (no elevator), no refrigerator, but lots of hot air, broken closet doors and a cracked sink. I'm writing this review from my hammock (the Lodge calls it a bed) at 3 am after a barking dog symphony.
