We spent three nights at the hotel to open the ski season. It is absolutely fine and an excellent place to stay. You will be happy with the hotel and location. The rooms have a full kitchen and fridge. Parking is free and limited to one car per room. Check-in was uneventful. The hotel is relatively easy to find once you have directions but the underground parking can be confusing. Please remember that you need to insert your room key well ahead of the garage door. And, read the signs. You will be in one several Marriott buildings. Park as close as you can to your building. The hotel is within a 10 minute walk to downtown and numerous “ski-town” restaurants. There were no upgrades and I am a Marriott Platinum for life member.

Our family of four stayed at the Marriott Mountain Valley Lodge this summer and had a great experience. The lodge is perfect. The rooms are spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable (even the sleeper sofas!). The location of the lodge made it easy to walk to many attractions and/or bars and restaurants.
We highly recommend this Marriott time-share.

I stay here whenever I come to Breckinridge. We come in all seasons with only a short drive from home. This is our mountain go to place. Love the location, short walk to all of main street shops, bars, restaurant. Very short walk to chairlift. Check in and parking is a breeze. Prefer the one bedroom but the studios are nice also. Downhill is my favorite building and the 7th floor condos have outstanding views. Bighorn is also nice if you can get overlooking the pond. Heated outdoor pool and tubs with great views of the mountain. Love this place and Breckenridge.

The staff were helpful and our room was gorgeous! The entire area was very clean and well appointed. We had a queen bed with sofa bed. The sitting area was very nice as was the kitchen and dining area. The sliding glass doors and small balcony looked out to the mountains. The underground parking was easy and included in the cost of the room. The bathroom was very efficient with separate doors for the shower, toilet area and a large outer sink and vanity area also with its own door. I could live here.

Breckenridge is scenic and its Main Street (and nearby) as interesting shopping and restaurants, but its altitude is around 9,300 feet above sea level. Not everyone is going to be comfortable at that altitude and my wife certainly wasn't. Ultimately we decided not to stay the whole week we had reserved and headed home sooner. It does make a difference if you can't breathe and can't breathe comfortably! We had spent a week in Vail and a week in Avon and were comfortable there, but my wife was simply not comfortable in Breckenridge.

Parking isn't all that good. The entrance to the underground parking area takes you around and around sharp turns and then as is so often the case with underground parking, the spaces are narrow. The luggage carts are quite small, but that's because the access to the elevators is also very narrow and hard to maneuver through.

Our unit slept four (two in the master bedroom) and two on a couch in the living room area. The master bedroom was a bit deficient in design because the TV was well off to the side--not a good place for watching TV from the bed, but the bathroom tub was well designed with handbars conveniently placed.

The kitchen/dining area was quite small and inconvenient. The living room had two comfortable chairs facing the TV and a couch as well, but then against another wall, the sleeper couch. The sleeper couch was off in a niche, affording some privacy to anyone using it (with the second bathroom beside it), but it was still very much in the living room.

Almost all timeshares have a washer/dryer combination in the unit itself or they have free use of washer/dryers conveniently nearby. Not the Mountain Valley Lodge. They have coin operated washers and dryers along corridors at some distance from the units. Cheap and shabby.

One final thing of real concern. As we were preparing to leave (early), I went down to the parking garage to get a luggage cart. I noticed that there were glow sticks in the corridors. I wasn't sure what that was about, but apparently the resort was in the process of having an electrical power outage. Fortunately, the elevators did work, I was able to get the cart and get back up to our unit, load the carts, and then get our luggage back down to the parking garage. But when we tried to get back up to our unit, the elevators were no longer working. We went to the lobby area and checked out and it was by then clear that the entire resort had essentially lost all but some emergency power. That's utterly inexcusable. A genuine concern if you are thinking of staying here.

Room Tip: Find another resort that has reliable electrical service.

Spent 10 days in Breckenridge, loved every moment....have reservations to return to the Mountain Valley Lodge for two weeks next year. Location is perfect, off the busy highway, but close to everything I need. Stayed there several years ago, the remodel really helps the place look much better. Love Maggie's Pond!

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking the pond

We stay here every time. Great for kids. Activities for the kids. Hot tub and pool. The rooms are really nice. Great location. Love it here. Quick walk to town. Eat at blue moose for breakfast and Eric's for dinner and lunch. Go to crepes kiosk outside on the way back to hotel. Fun.
