“Good pub food”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

Ate dinner here during a football game, so it was pretty noisy. The fish and chips and coconut shrimp were very good. We had seen them serving from a booth at Oktoberfest, and the fish looked so good we found the pub a day later so we could try the fish and chips. Not disappointed.

We had the Bangers and Mash and the Fish and Chips. Both were excellent! Service was fast and friendly. Would certainly recommend.

“Terrible”
Reviewed August 31, 2012

Attempted to go here for dinner on vacation. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived, but somehow the server got us menus but we did not have drinks after waiting for 20 minutes. We got up and went to Breckenridge Brewery instead.

“My maternal grandparents are Burke.”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

Burke & Riley’s Irish Pub is an easy discovery. The pub is located on the east at the red light junction of Park and South Main Street. Park you car (legally) and enjoy. Burke & Riley’s Irish Pub is above stairs on level three. One cannot find a more Irish name than either Burke or Riley. My maternal grandparents were Burke and regaled the family with Irish Blarney. Guess I come by Blarney by jus sanguinis. At any rate, I request and receive the “family” discount.

The ambience: inside and patio, loud but ok contemporary “rock.” The inside is “Television City,” which we hate! There is a full bar, and a nice beer selection. I ask to barkeep to go off menu and request a “pint of black and tan with the Shamrock.” We requested a pint, and she (barkeep) replied “ours is larger than a pint; it is 20 ounces.”

I explain that in Ireland and the British Isles the measure is an imperial pint (20 ounces.)The young women (barkeep and servers) are delightful and full of smiles.

The current population of Ireland is currently 4.5 million, and nearly half of the Irish reside in or near Dublin. We have years of experience with real pubs in Ireland and the British Isles.

Burke & Riley’s Irish Pub is about as Irish as a nearby burger joint; however, this is the case with 90% of U.S. Irish pubs. There is Irish whiskey and Irish beer. There is Fish and Chips, Shepherd’s pie, Irish Stew, and Bangor’s and Mash. No doubt the Fish and Chips are great, and a few years ago when I had no cholesterol concerns it would be Fish and Chips. Today it is Shepherd’s pie and Irish Stew.

Patio dining is perfect. 66 degrees, sun, and a view of the Nine Mile Range provide a perfect setting.

An actual Irish Pub on the Emerald Isle is a scene of family entertainment. Very few provide TV, and some are 400 – 600 years old with a fireplace. A small village might sport 6-8 Pubs. A family (Mom, Dad, and two - three children) might appear at 6:00 (following supper at home,) and stay to 10:00 – 11:00PM. Very often a small band with fiddles provide traditional Celtic music, and Dad might nurse a Murphy’s for four hours.

The Pub is the town center to provide camaraderie and serve as a social hub.

Good prcing for resort town, with good food in a fun pub style setting!
Hot bartenders & servers make it even more enjoyable. Oh, and I almost forgot the huge deck with killer mountain views of the ski area and town!
