We were very pleased with the condo. Anything you could possibly want in the kitchen was there. My wife cooked some great meals & everything she needed was there & like new (although we could have just jumped on the free bus to town for great food). The bus stopped at the end of the driveway and had bike racks on the front to take your bike along.
The staff was excellent whenever we needed something. The garage was great as it snowed the first week we were there. If you're into mountain biking, off-road ATV's, or just hiking, it's all within walking distance of the condos. The main street in town is just a short drive down the mountain. The people were all friendly, resturaunts great, & plenty of sights within a days drive (Aspen, Vail, Leadville). We'll be back every year. The views from the condo balconies are awesome.

Each unit at Gold Point has a fully-stocked kitchen, complete with all the necessities for preparing home-cooked meals, so guests can save money by dining in.

We are always so pleased when guests have great vacations with us!

BEWARE of this place! Our daughter pays for one week five star timeshare accommodations through a company called Interval. For our wedding anniversary she let us use her week as her guests. We got online to check where and what was available and chose Breckenridge, Colorado as the area we wanted to stay. We planned several months in advance. We saw pictures of a few places to stay in Breckenridge and chose one that looked real nice that could accommodate 8 to 10 people right in town where the shops are. When my husband called to book the place, he got talked into switching to Gold Point Resort that was supposed to be bigger and better and could accommodate up to 15 people and they called it the "penthouse". So he trustingly booked it. We checked Gold Point Resort online to see what it looked like and what the "penthouse" looked like. It looked real nice, but when we got there it was just past 5:00pm. Gold Point Resort was located in the boonies away from town. The office was closed, but our keys were left in an envelope. We drove to our so called "penthouse". The garage was so narrow we did not dare try to park our rental van in it. There was no elevator, so we had to walk up three flights of narrow stairs. We opened the door to face yet another flight of stairs. There was a full kitchen, a dinning room, and more stairs leading to the living room and balcony that did have a great view. There were three tiny bathrooms (TINY). The master bedroom was not large at all and neither was the master bathroom. It was obvious that the pictures online were NOT pictures of this place at all. There is no air conditioning. You could see the light fixtures were dusty. And it only could sleep only up to 10 people. Well, there were 15 of us. So part of our party left back for home. But my husband and I had traveled all the way from Hawaii. Where were we to go? On the phone it listed a number for the resident manager. Not so. When we called it, we got the same recording to the office which of course was closed. If you want clean towels, you have to hike up some long stairs back to the office to get some, and you have to take your own garbage out. There is no maid service. I suppose it would have been nice enough accept for the fact that our daughter paid for five star accommodations and this was not five star at all. We later found out that they had put us in a three star place, and were told that there were no five star accommodations open for us to switch too. Oh, but they did say there were some empty, but they have been booked for other people in advance. Hello??? That was what we did! All we got from Gold Point was a bunch of "I'm sorry." And that was all. Nothing to make up for what was obviously their mistake and false information. It was like a bait and switch con. We called Interval for help and only got a bunch of "I'm sorry" too. Not even an offer to compensate our daughter since she had paid for five star accommodations. It was obvious that since they got her money in advance already, they didn't care. We asked if we could be switched to a five star accommodation anywhere in all of Colorado. They said that all of Colorado was booked up. What a bunch of bull! And what a rip-off! We were expecting some relatives to visit. Well we are all elderly so we cancelled those plans. They would never make it up all those stairs. In fact Gold Point Resort is not ADA compliant at all. They never asked us to sign in and register, they never asked us for our credit card, and of course, they never gave us our welcome basket nor an invite to their meeting that pitches the sale of their timeshares. Perhaps they figured we were just some Hawaiians used to living in grass shacks that wouldn't know the difference between five star accommodations or not?! How insulting! So don't believe the pictures they show online, and don't believe their word. They're bogus! That's my advice to you. Stay someplace else! Our second week in Colorado we booked an apartment at Hyland Park Centre near Thornton. Located off of Pecos right on 85th Avenue. Only $50 dollars per day to stay in their guest apartment, clean and beautifully furnished with AC, Fireplace, balcony and swimming pools. Exceeding all our expectations! The people in their office were all so nice and very accommodating. I wanted to buy that place!

At Gold Point, we are sorry if a guest feels that they have been mislead, either by us or by Interval International which is the exchange company that timeshare owners can use to trade into other resorts.

Gold Point is located about three miles out of Breckenridge on Baldy Mountain. It is built townhouse style, with views of Breckenridge Mountain and the Ten Mile Range. Our units vary in size and occupancy from studios that sleep four, to three bedroom penthouses that sleep ten people. Our website, www.goldpoint.com, has information and photos of the resort and the units. We are a green company; we do not have daily maid service although sheet and towel exchanges or even a full room clean can be done at request for a small fee.

Our condo could not have been cleaner. Terrific views of the moujntains west of Breckenridge. One bedroom units are very roomy. Our complaints are all over the noise level of other rude guests next to us on the first night and DOGS BARKING all night long the thrid night. This resort does not have a "quiet time" like many others we have stayed in. Also, there is no one to call on site after 5:00 PM if youj have a valid noise concern and need help from management. We would not have booked here had we known barking dogs were allowed and had we known dogs were allowed in the condos period. As breath taking the views were, we will not be going back to this resort unless dogs are banned and there is a "quiet time" rule established.
PS: We used ear plugs to try to sleep and that did not help.

  • Liked — How clean it was and terrific views.
  • Disliked — Noise from rude near by guests and BARKING DOGS!

Gold Point, located on Baldy Mountain, has great views of the Ten Mile Range and Breckenridge Mountain. It is a pet-friendly resort so there will be guests who bring their dogs there. For those who do not want to be around pets, our other property the Grand Timber Lodge does not allow pets. However the units at Gold Point are spacious and each building has a hot tub with views that cannot be beat.

Although the Gold Point Condominiums are not located directly in the town of Breckenridge on Main Street, there is free shuttle-bus transportation to and from town.

The fact that Gold Point is located about three miles up the mountain from the base of town allows for some of the greatest views of the ten-mile range that Breckenridge has to offer.

My wife and I spent a Friday and Saturday night in a 1BR unit in late July. What a great place to re-connect! This is the sort of place you go to if you want to spend time in the condo. There are virtually no amenities or activities on sight. We had planned on doing more outside, but some unexpected rain kept us in to read and watch t.v.. Our highlight was cooking dinner together and sitting down to eat while taking in a sunset so spectacular only God could paint it.

The units are very spacious - especially by Colorado standards - and the views at Gold Point cannot be beat! Our unit was very clean and as well equipped as all the other posts claim. The bed and linens were as comfortable as any I've slept in, and the bathroom was HUGE. Although our kids stayed home with Grandpa, we quickly noticed that this place is not very kid friendly since there's no pool, video games or playground, etc. My only gripe is that noise - especially that of the crying babies - seeped in from other units.

TIP for families with kids: Consider staying at Gold Point's sister resort, Grand Timber Lodge.

TIP for everyone (unless you're afraid of heights): If you want to see a side of Colorado few people get to, take Baldy Rd. back down to Boreas Pass Rd. and hang a left. Follow the road up for 8 to 10 miles. Make sure you have plenty of gas in the car and plenty of film in the camera - especially in late Sept when the aspens are turning. Having lived in CO for 12 years and seen all the popular sights, we were awestruck with the views. There are a couple of trailheads where you can park and hike or mountain bike. Best of all - it's FREE!!!
