Wonderful meal of lamb chops and rice. The server suggestion of Spanish wine was a perfect compliment to the meal and our appetizer of stuffed red pepper was exceptional. What I really like is the local ambience and patrons who live year-round in Breck. Great way to relax with friends and family.

The restaurant itself is not amazing in any aspect - decor, food, service - it's all ok, but nothing to rave about. The big annoyance was the flies in the restaurant. How can you have both: front and back door wide open in the restaurant while serving food? We're more focused on chasing the flies away from our food and us, than on eating food and enjoin it. Not a very clean place either. Overall - will not come back.

Nice variety of food on menu. This restaurant was recommended by concierge as quiet restaurant where a group of three ladies could dine and easily converse. The day we were there, a large group was there. It was far from quiet.

Wife and I were in Breckenridge for a business conference that happened to fall at the same time as our anniversary. We were looking for something a little more special than we would normally do in Breck, and finally decided to try the Blue River Bistro, based on TA reviews and on-line menu perusal.

We arrived 15 minutes early and were seated promptly even though the place was pretty busy. The server greeted us promptly and described menu specials and 1/2 price wine bottle specials. We decided on a very good Sangria while we again checked out the menus. We had pretty much decided before arrival that we would do an appetizer, individual salads, split the Cioppino and hopefully save room for a dessert. We had the Combo Platter appetizer (Spinach dip, bruschetta, calamari and caprese) which could easily be a meal in itself. I had the Kale Quinoa Salad and the wife did the Garden Salad. Both were excellent. The Cioppino was everything I had hoped for, but could have stood a few more stands of angel hair pasta. Rich and flavorful, although nowhere near as spicy as the server warned. I noted that the menu indicated that they charged $4 for a split entrée, and was very pleased that the charge was waived, perhaps because we ordered so much other stuff. A second round of Sangria for each of us, and a shared dessert finished out the meal. We tried the Crème Brulee, which was excellent also.

Service was top notch. No question that we would return when looking for a little more upscale establishment in Breck.

Salads and shared sampling plate provided excellent starters, whilst the main pasta dishes, meat or shellfish were excellent. A good wine list, but check the year of the vintage provided against that quoted!
Efficient friendly service.
