“Fun atmosphere & good service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

My party enjoyed a tasty Sunday brunch in an attractive setting. The breakfast type entrees were especially good and the presentation was lovely. The kale/quinoa salad needs some pepping up as it was somewhat bland. A fun restaurant.

“Nice place for a romantic dinner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

They've got half-circle booths next to windows so you can sit right next to your partner and also enjoy the views outside. The atmosphere and menu are pretty upscale. The food is pretty "artfully" prepared. We got the Crispy Tiger Shrimp appetizer, Colorado Vegetable Farro entree and Frutti di Mare entree and all was very good. The menu denotes gluten-free items with a little icon and says they can offer more gluten free items upon request which is pretty important to my girlfriend so that was a nice touch. The wait staff was very friendly. We were there pretty early so it was pretty quiet inside which was nice. It was a nice romantic evening.

“Easy to Overlook on Main Street”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2013

We have owned a place on the south side of Breckenridge for four years and continue to rate Blue River Bistro as a must visit restaurant every time we are in town. There are a lot of average to above average restaurants for the tourist crowd in Breck but few that really excite one's palate. When we first started coming here, reservations were easy. This time we had to beg our way in on the last night in town. They are an Open Table restaurant but we recommend calling for reservations. My wife was swayed by our pleasant and helpful server to try the Arctic Char. The char was dressed with braised purple cabbage and pearl onions. My wife said her salad was the best part of the dinner. Butter lettuce, with walnuts, blue cheese, tomato, and a buttermilk and pesto drizzle made her ooh and ahh for a half hour. I was troubled because I always order the Penne Roberto, a spicy dish built around flank steak. I have never been disappointed with that dish but was persuaded by our server to try the lamb chops. The chops were wonderfully seasoned and prepared, but as with most fare at the Blue River Bistro it is the chef's ability to mix complementary tastes. The chef prepared a sweet cauliflower puree that was a light and a wonderful counterbalance to the gamier taste of lamb. The BEST part of this entree was the mushroom and spinach bread pudding that was set up a bit like a souffle. Now that we're settled into our mountain home, we often eat home cooking to avoid the crowds during peak season. We always venture out for Blue River Bistro where management evidently seeks engaging and attentive servers. Try our favorite place and you won't be disappointed.

“Great bistro in theheart of Breckenridge”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013

Sit on the front patio and you get great people watching. The side patio is very peaceful but still has some people watching opportunities. Indors has a nice bar and booth and table seating. Good menu with more upgraded sandwiches, wraps, nice salads and Appetizers. Had the Honey nut baked brie, was encrusted in a slight fry crust very light and came with sliced apples and crackers. Very nice App. Had the Blue River Salad with artichokes, avocado, tomatoes, spring mix, blue cheese and chicken. Very good and a good portion. Also had the Beet salad with mixed greens, pistachio, guyere cheese and a really good amount of chopped beets. Also a good portion.Staff very friendly and accommodating. Nice place to stop when touring thru Breckenridge.
