We had most of our lunches while up the mountain here and each one was delicious - the favourite being Chili in a bread bowl. We did try other restaurants mainly due to hunger and location on the mountain but they paled in comparison and were generally more expensive

This independent, family-run restaurant may lack atmosphere, super convenient location and panoramic vistas, but it offers the most affordable, quality options for on-mountain dining. Lunch here can cost up to 25% less than at other on-mountain restaurants and daily specials offer an even better value. Its not gourmet fare, but it is hearty, quality food at a more palatable price. The staff is friendly and the facility is clean.

We only ate here the once and made use of the indoor picnic area downstairs other days. The food was average at best and expensive as you would expect. I had a chilli but it didn't come with rice. It didn't taste like any chilli I had eaten before. Hot chocolate was the best and only a couple of dollars or so.

We ate at the top of Peak 9 at the restaurant, thinking we were giving ourselves a treat. Boy, was that a horrible mistake. We spend $30 on 2 burgers & 1 drink! The lady in front of us got some cheese fries, and we watched in horror as they took some average-looking fries and dripped melted nacho cheese on it (like at a stadium). It was really gross. Then we watched as our burgers slid out of a hole, the guy grabbing them and then beating out the grease from them. It was disgusting. And they tasted like cardboard.

I will say it was nice that they offer a place in the downstairs area for you to bring your own lunch, and that they sell hot water for 25 cents if you bring your own hot chocolate.

Save your money and stomach and eat at the BOTTOM of the slope of Peak 9 in Maggies -- they have excellent pizza!! OR take your own lunch and just get warm here.
