We stayed here (at the Monte Cristo - #203) through RCI. People at RCI didn't give it very good reviews, so I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived to find a neat little condo. It was supposed to be 1br/1ba, with a sleeper sofa. Turns out we had an extra bedroom with bunkbeds - so it was a bonus.

First, the good:

1) The location was fabulous - just a couple blocks from Main streets.

2) It was clean and had a neat little set-up.

3) There was a full kitchen with dishes/utensils etc. provided,

3) The bathroom had updated decor and a fan (important if you eat Mexican - lol)

4) Fabulous views from the large balcony

5) Lots of storage space and decent size condo

6) Hot tub in basement

7) Outdoor storage for skiing and winter sport equipment.

The not-so-good:

1) For 4 people, there were only 6 towels for the week. That meant laundry had to be done at least 2x if we used our towels 2x each

2) The bunkbeds were so high (AND NO BEDRAILS) so getting in and out of top bunk was a problem.

3) The linens on the bunkbeds were not very secure so the fitted sheet kept coming off and it was a booger to put back on.

4) We didn't discover until we had fully read the papers we received on check-in that while you do get fresh sheets when you check in, there's a good chance the blankets and bedspreads haven't been washed when you get there. EWWWWWW.

5) The carpet, while vacuumed, had a couple of stains and floor was uneven.

6) There is no laundry vending in the basement so you have to buy/bring your own laundry supplies

7) The only Internet access is in the basement??

8) TVs work, but don't expect hi-def. That being said, don't stay inside and watch tv - get out and go!

Still, we would probably stay there again, but request all the covers be washed or do so ourselves upon arrival.

We just got back from a week at these condos and thought it was a nice place to stay if you aren't looking for something too fancy. The location is great, very convenient to slopes and main street. our family of two adults and kids ages 8 and 10 were very happy there. We saved lots of money by cooking in and bringing bag lunches to slopes every day.

After re reading the reviews prior to our trip I got nervous( we had booked this in march but not too many choices from RCI ). Upon arrival, I saw the small, dark hallway and thought, "oh boy, here we go" just what people had said. Much to my surprise, we had a 1st floor room, yes carpets we're outdated, very pleased to see newly remodeled bathroom, kitchen floor and well stocked kitchen. We had a blender, full set of dinner ware, knives, utensils, etc, the best I have ever had, ( our condo is in Branson). The stove seemed newer, electric. Easy to cook on. True, we were there in off season, very few other units in use. I can imagine the parking to be an issue when condos full. The close proximity to town was truly nice! I do think they are slowly updating. It is probably the luck of the draw. The biggest complaint, would be wifi. Spotty reception. Had to go to basement, and then it did not always work.

Room Tip: Going here in off season may be less disappointing. Only contact with management was on check in. I...

We booked this through RCI. Having been to breckenridge previously, we knew what to expect...but the price was right and we go to Breck for the skiing and don't spend much time in the room so it was fine. We had the 2 BR with loft. There were on ly 3 of us but it could have easily slept 6 comfortably.

On the plus side...close to town, on the shuttle route, full kitchen (although we had to get missing utensils from management), roomy, clean, comfy beds, nice towels, after hours check in is easy.

The cons:Parking is outside, (once we get to Breck, we park our car and use the shuttle to get around), the building is a bit dated, decor is not upscale, management is down the block, can be a bit noisy in the hallway, no common areas. No elevator so if you can't do stairs, look elsewhere...jacuzzi was downstairs in a basement like area that has been converted to a jacuzzi/tv area...i prefer the hot tub to be outside.

This is a condo not a resort, so there are no real "resort amenities" however Breckenridge the mountain and the town more than make up for this lack. Downtown is less than 5 minutes walking (slowly, in the snow), and the ski hill is easily accesible by walking 10-15 mins or shuttle. So, you are paying for the location more than anything. All in all, it was a perfectly fine value for the exchange fee we paid.

There is a small grocery a block away or city market (for a better selection) is at the other end of town --maybe 2 miles--be sure to ask for the city market frequent shopper card to get discounts.

Room Tip: the 2 BR/2 BA with the loft was spacious a comfy

Dirty, outdated, inadequate parking and terrible management service. Also, when the parking lot fills up, you are forced to park in the street resulting in a ticket. Feels like staying in the slum lords.

We own a 2 bedroom unit in week 02 & 03 at Alpenrose. We have been there over a dozen times and have seen gradual improvement to the building and units over the years. The location is very close to “Main St.” and is in easy walking distance to all amenities in Breckenridge. A bus stop with service to all of Summit County is only 50 feet from the front doors of the building. Breckenridge Ski area is a short 7 minute ride on the bus. It is great not to worry about the cost and hassle of parking. We often come back to the condo for lunch it is so close.
Although not modern, the units have all the essentials for an enjoyable weeks stay. Do not expect a “Gold Crown” level condo here. They are very reasonably priced and are quite adequate for the stay. After all do you want to ski & be outdoors, or have a full service resort? The choice is yours and Alpenrose is a nice place to stay for a good price in one of the best ski towns in America.
