The room was huge. Very comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped and convenient. Warm underground garage. Stuff is very helpful. The shuttle service will drive you everywhere. They will even pick you up from around the town at request. All free! You will ski out to the back door right to the locker. Yet you have to use shuttle to the to the ski area. Again shuttle service is excellent and very frequent. Internet is fast yet surcharge if you use for more than 1 hour a day. Gas fireplace – very nice. Terrace awesome. The poll was across the street. No locker by the poll. We decided not to use the pool. We used hot tub in the building. They do not have sauna. Main Street is a short walk. Main Street in Breckenridge pretty and a must to see. We strolled to The Main street every evening. There is no restaurant in the hotel. Make sure you have something for breakfast. Breckenridge is very warm and nice town but on high elevation. You will ski even higher. I had constant headache and have to take pills. Skiing in Breck is fantastic. Enjoy your stay.

Had a wonderful week at Mountain Thunder. I could go on and on about all the wonderful qualities of the hotel including the dining advise from the front desk and shuttle drivers. The only negative would be the pool which unless you are a family of polar bears, the water was frigid. For the money spent, and the children looking for some non-ski downtime.... the pool was a huge disappointment. The pool seems to be an ongoing problem with the hotel that consistently gets mentioned on Trip Advisor.

We really liked the helpful staff but, to us, our rooms had a number of problems.
Here are the problems we found:

* The thermostat/baseboard heaters can’t be turned down. We had to open a window each night and turn on a big fan to cool off the condo and turn on the fireplace each morning to warm it up.
* The carpet was in disrepair. It was worn and needed replacing

* The electrical plugs didn’t function well. In many cases, plugs fell out of them.

* There was no pizza pan, pizza cutter, or scissors in the room.

* Not nearly enough closet space. Skiing means a ton of clothing. Much of ours had to go on the floor. Our room had one tiny closet. Cruise ship rooms have more.

* The televisions were old, small, and not even flatscreens.

* Realize there is a charge for WiFi. There shouldn't be.

This property looked like the owners you wanted to put features in each room so that you could advertise them … functionality wasn’t a concern. Considering the photos and description of both the rooms and property, this place was a disappointment.

My husband and I stayed in a 2 bedroom condo at Mountain Thunder Lodge with friends (4 of us in total) for 10 days at the beginning of February 2010.

The condo was plenty big enough for us. We had 2 spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, with both bath tub and shower, with double sink. The communal living area was comfortable, with a cosy fire. The kitchen had everything you could need, and more. There was also hairdryers, iron/board and a humidifier.

The main hotel and our room was very clean. We had housekeeping every day - you are encouraged to reuse bed sheets and towels, but they will change if you request.

The staff were so friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble and they always assisted with restaurant reservations, etc. The shuttle service was such a great help - door to door taxi service whenever you needed it.

The hotel location was excellent, being close enough to walk (5 minutes to the main town), but also just that little bit outside making it very quiet. The ski gondala is only a 3 minute walk away.

The pool and hot tub area was a great bonus. The main pool could get busy in the afternoon, but there are 3 or 4 other hot tubs hidden away.

I will definitely be visiting this hotel again.

Arrived late evening after a long journey, reception staff were very welcoming and efficient, smooth check in. Room was just as described spotless, warm and very comfortable. We enjoyed a fabulous 10 day holiday skiing during the day then relaxing in the pool and hot tubs before going out to dinner at various restaurants in town . Good convenient location but no need to walk anywhere because the minute we set foot in reception the staff were there ready to offer a ride in the hotel shuttle and luxury of luxuries would also pick you up from wherever we went! All the staff, housekeeping reception and shuttle drivers worked hard to make guests welcome, ski lift attendants, mountain guides, shop assistants all had friendly attitudes, and the complimentary filter coffee in the room each day was very nice too! will we return ? as soon as I can save up!!!

Spent two weeks at Mountain Thunder in January could not fault it. Stayed in a one bed condo everything you could have wanted was available. The staff were helpful and very friendly, excellent shuttle service around the town. Although advertised as ski in ski out on some sites, it is only ski in and only ski direct to door if you stay in building one and a very short walk to the other buildings but the shuttle only takes a few minutes to any of the lifts or gondola and available on request but most of the time we found one waiting at the front door when requested.
Great skiing area for all levels. Good food in town for all price ranges. Ski pass covers other local areas, but as this was our first visit there was enough skiing to keep us happy in Breckenridges. We had hired a car but unless you plan on travelling around you can manage without one and if you did want to go to the other ski areas there is public transport.

Mountain Thunder was great! The lodge itself was wonderful and the stuff were very friendly, check-in was a breeze. We got a great view 2 bedroom room, with a huge balcony and nice fireplace. A pool and 2 hot tubs were just a few floors away, very easy access. The pool area had a heated change room which made it nice coming in and out of the hot tubs. You get one free hour of internet a day which was plenty to check emails and upload pictures. Skiing out was a little complicated, a little annoying walking to the gondola, but the lodge provides free shuttle service and goes all the time, so we used that quite a bit. Skiing in was FANTASTIC, almost to the front door! Just cross a little field and you are on Main Street. Could make the access a little easier but it worked out fine. Will stay here again!
